Re: HT Batman 1989 Coming

I can't see a Batmobile appearing in Nolans universe ... my quess for vehicle would be another tumbler with slight alteration perhaps.

Hopefully not slight. It's time to get something more custom to batman like the new suit. I think it's time again for Batman to fly as well. Cant always rely on underground flightcrew ;)

For me, the lights are what makes it work, without them, I'm not a big fan.

I don't think Warner was necessarily behind it, I think it was just Nolan's design team and direction with the story. While I don't feel like it has the kinship of the traditional Batmobiles, it is perfect for how Nolan is telling the story. I love that Nolan made Bruce Wayne a character who needs other people and resources to get all this stuff. I never really bought into the notion of Wayne being able to do everything, like in Returns, Bruce and Alfred make and repair the Batmobile, just doesn't seem likely to me.

I wonder how it would look WITHOUT the freaking neon lights! so with just the different layers (that make it gigeresk, witch is was inspired from seeing in the extras)

naaah, for me the neon needs to be in Vegas where it belongs!

Re: HT Batman 1989 Coming

The biggest difference between the two Burton Batman movies is said pretty succinctly in the "making of" commentaries. "Batman" was a Batman movie directed by Tim Burton, where he was reigned in by the studios mythology wise, but to get him back, Returns was a Burton film where he was allowed to do whatever he wanted with the bat characters in it, no adhering to mythology.

Laugh- And didn't that bite the studios in the ass?

Returns IS Darker just because at the start of the movie Penguin is already a child murderer then he wants to later slaughter all of Gothams first born. It's certainly more adult just through it's dialogue and innuendo. And yeah, then it gets kind of silly with Penguins goons kidnapping all the kids in a duck train (laugh). Nothings perfect man!

Batman Returns just has this whole vibe that pulls me into that Gotham world and grips me. There is just a whole romance to the way Burton created that world. (And I like the Batman costume better than the one than from '89.).

Returns is definitely a movie where I think people either love it or hate it.

Well I love it. :)

And to be honest, from first viewing perhaps the best feeling of satisfaction I got from watching a Batman movie in theatres...
When I saw Begins in the theatres I was like what happend to the fairytale style and mystery. :)
It really had to grow on me that Nolan style...and when it did I like Begins a lot more better than when I saw it the first time, but in my opinion its not a "better" movie than Returns, cause I will always like the style of Returns. Even if its not a batman movie, I actually dont care if its batman accurate or not, I want to be entertained :panic:

Than when TDK came out I was prepared that it was gonna be that kinda movie, but still the first viewing was not as exiting as I rememberd from Returns, and I saw TDK 3 times, 2 times in a normal theatre, and 1 time in the Imax complex in London.

3rd? You must be mistaken. There was only Batman, Returns, Begins and TDK.

And where did that Batmobile in the previous pic come from? Is that some sort of acid induced fan made concept car???

Batman Forever is my favorite out of the original 4 Bat films. I've watched it more than any other Bat film to date. You must be those guys that appreciate the "Burtonized" Batman Returns..with no Batman in the film, and being too dark even for Batman.

Re: HT Batman 1989 Coming

Let's just hope you watched it drunk and looked at that nice curvy body on Nicole. Other than that, this movie had bright lights and peptobismol written all over it.

I'm not a huge fan of Returns but anything in between Burton and Nolan's is unwatchable to me.

Actually I think its easier to look at B&R than Batman Forever :)

Here is why, Forever tries to be taken seriously as a sequel to the first 2 films and B&R is just the very first comedy batman, so if you look at it that way, being a comedy, it works, and its a hell of a good comedy for that matter!

I mean, THIS IS A CLASSIC already! :lol

I consider myself such a guy :)
But like I already said, I dont even care about the screentime of Batman, as long as I am entertained, that is for me the only thing that matters, and that is what makes a good movie, not how much you see of Batman or if its true to the comics...

I guess that the advantage of not being a fanboy :)

I don't think they were trying to make a comedy.

The Batmobile:ribbed for her pleasure.:p

:rotfl :clap

Honestly as far as I'm concerned the best were Batman 89, Begins and TDK. Returns is watchable but that was already getting off the deep end and the other two I can't watch. I mean I'll take Adam West any day over those other two. At least the old show was funny and fun to watch.
