Re: HT Batman 1989 Coming
Same here.
I will definitely buy the batmobile if they make it.

I love the 89 Batmobile, it has the classic Batmobile look. But I also love the Tumber design. It has a get your ass out of the way before I run it over look and is straight out of The Dark Knight Returns.
If HT makes it, I'll have both displayed on the shelf.
89 might not leap, might not be capable of running over bad guys, might not be able to take sharp turns w/o the assistance of a cable hook and is really way too long of a vehicle to be good at anything other than going fast in a straight line.
But damn if it isn't the most beautiful pop culture thing ever created, not just for a Batman movie, but for any movie!
.
But here is the tough question, if you could only have one , which would it be?
:
Tumbler since I already have it.
At the price and space use of 1/6, the Tumbler just doesn't work for me, Geil' sig image sums it up.
I see Batman standing next to it, which is the only safe display option to not damage Batman's suit, and I just don't feel like there's a connection between the two, I feel like you could stick John Connor next to it and it would seem like some futuristic Terminator vehicle. You can display it without a Batman figure near it, and it's a cool looking vehicle but I wouldn't give up the space or spend more than $50 for it.
That Keaton Batmobile and Batman look like they go together, might just be press images burning the idea into my head, but it's just how I feel.

I'm just used to a Batmobile having blatant bat designs in it.
For better or worse with some of those designs, but, it's what I grew up watching and seeing, so it's what I'm used to. I grew up watching reruns of the Adam West show, then it was onto '89 and so forth.
I totally agree... especially about the connection with the tumbler... it's never remotely seemed like a Batmobile to me, just some tank that could easily fit into any action movie.
Tumbler was specifically mentioned as a military vehicle built by Wayne enterprises, not Batman himself.
Valid point, I think I know why.

89 car is just Batman's car....one assumes built by Batman himself instead of a whole bunch of engineers.
It just exists.....mysterious and brooding.
I remember owning the Forever toy car. Good stuff.
Nah, it's just that, compared to all the examples I posted, there's nothing about it that says, this is Batman's vehicle, where the other Batmobiles look so much like his car, you'd think, who the hell else would be driving this. Like I said, I could see John Connor looking natural behind the wheel of the Tumbler as much as Batman.
Interesting thing is as Spike is reshowing Burton's Batman, the Batwing itself was never shown to be that big in proximity. It looked to be about as big as the Batmobile....I wonder if HT is considering that as a possible vehicle as well, their first entrance into 1/6 ships...
Well, that was kinda my point...I was agreeing with you, work with me
I'm not ashamed to admit, I still like the Forever Batmobile. I've always liked the blue glow coming from the engine. I wish Hot Wheels would make a 1:18 of that one with working lights.
