I got my waitlist confirmation from Toys2 from sending my request on Friday, so I guess I'll wait and see what happens.

Yep, same here. I'm on "the list".

Hopefully it works out. I might have to back out if they're too expensive though.

Just thought I'd post this pic from someone on facebook

That's just hawt.

I would prefer Hot Toys doing a Liam Neeson Ra's and that is all. I mean I love Liam Neeson as an actor and I understand that through many of his other performances, he has taken on a more fatherly, giving role, and that he in a way takes on that mentor/father role again in Begins, and that is why many don't consider him to be menacing. However I thought he made a great Ra's and would love to see him in 1/6 scale

This was done purposefully I'm assuming. In the comics there is a discrepancy about Ras. In one origin story he was part of an Arab tribe that migrated to China and he used both ancient cultures to come to his Lazarus Pit, etc, in this origin he is slated to be about 600 years old. In other origin story he is of British decent who goes through an affinity for ancient cultures and studies all of the ancients including ancient Persia, ancient China, ancient Japan to find the keys to various aspects of his power including a combination of various ideas and theories to create the Lazarus Pit in that origin he is just under 500 years old.

Both Wannabe and Neeson played both aspects of the origin perfectly IMHO but it should be noted that the British decent (Neeson's take) is what is still considered canon for most writers in that universe. Ras does wear a suit most of the time, only followed by his emerald cape which if you added to Neeson's suit from the end would have fit perfectly.

It's my understanding that "Birth of the Demon" is considered to be the post-Crisis, current canonical origin of Ra's al Ghul - that he was a scholar/healer as part of the Arab tribe, and not the version where he is of British descent.

The thing is Sideshow usually gets the Toy Hunters exclusives, so a normal figure it would be safe to assume we could get one from Sideshow. So even if they do let Sideshow distribute some of the 10th Ann exclusives, the Batman/Scarecrow set isn't even confirmed since its a DC item and DCD can be... opinionated. So hopefully they just let Sideshow do a Watchmen and let them handle everything. Same with the Bamtan 89 line.

so has sideshow confirm that they will be selling these exclusives yet?

:panic: Man I really am a newb! :thud:

I don't know any of this! :slap

I don't read comics. The extent of my knowledge of Ra's comes from BTAS.

don't worry Mag, when I was younger, all I knew was BTAS and STAS. not until my early teens did I actually start reading into comics and indulging myself in Batman and Superman Mythology. But I've only known about British Ra's...didn't know of the Arab/Chinese thing Mike was talking about. He just never looked full on British to me which is why I assumed he had Persian to him

I got on the Toys2 list as well, but if the price is insane, I'm off it just as fast. I appreciate the assistance from them, but in the end, I'm really only after the Batman figure. Not so big on the Scarecrow, an since so many prefer him, I think scoring a separate Batman may be worth waiting.

Also, I've never thought of Ra's as anything other than a European who styled himself Asian. And I have read the comics, which supercede all other mediums.

Yeah, if the price is over what I'm willing to pay, I'm just going to say ____ it.

You know what you could do devilo. If Batman is all you're after, you could sell the Scarecrow and keep the Batman and maybe even get back what you paid initially.

I've been checking ebay every now and then and I think I've only seen one Demon Batman for sale by itself.

I expected more after seeing all the "Keep Scarecrow, sell Batman" responses. Maybe it's too early to tell yet, not sure. Or it might be that the Demon Batman grew on them and they kept it.
