I haven’t heard this mentioned here yet. Had mine open for like a month or whatever untouched in a dark cabinets

Val is now a sticky tacky mess of a figure - y’alls the same?

Both my Batman and Robin figures felt very tacky out of the box when opened two weeks ago. Been in a cabinet ever since with Robin being now fine and most of it gone from Batman too.

I'm in Australia and had a few warm days to end summer and a little humidity in that time but nothing extreme.

Yup exactly and it’s been a DRY winter here too

And it had zero tack when I took it out of the box but now it’s tough to even handle

I just opened mine over the weekend. I could feel a little tack on some parts of the armor like the thighs. Are you guys using anything to get rid of the tack?

303 protectant. its normal with the material they pick for dx09, begins, returns, rubber suits. my original 09 smelled oily and left weird smells on my fingers

I believe they use lube to get the suits on and that may come though in different areas and in different amounts for each figure - especially with such a thin rubber suit.. A lot of people including myself have noticed it right out of the box perhaps Raymond's is just now starting the process?

I don't think it's degradation. At least I hope not. Time will tell I guess.

Edit:
I suppose it could also have something to do with the paint used on this suit or whatever it is. Thinking about it more, this thing may melt like Comedian. :panic:

Hot Toys have not had the best record with pleather and some rubber before but the 89 and Returns figures have not deteriorated. I don't believe these would do so within 4 months of production.

I could be wrong but I think these figures will be fine and that the current tackiness is part of the lubrication and will subside over time.

Chase loves that lube and then tackiness after.

You're probably right.

I don't know about this one but I'm not sure the DX09 is actually rubber rather than some kind of vinyl or soft plastic.

I’d really like to get this figure but the issues with the suit worry me a bit. Granted I haven’t heard too many horror stories (yet) but Ray’s issue would be a no go for me. I have the Keaton versions and those suits seem to do well, no sticky ness. Only hot toys I ever treated was the Ed209 figure, but at least it’s not a suit where your might want to pose it. And is it just the Batman or is Robin getting sticky as well. After all this time still these issues with hot toys and rubber materials…

What’s going on with Robins codpiece in that pic!? :lol

@SimonAT

Looks good, but it is too bad Batman doesn't have matching nipples to go with his boy.

Schumacher, well, he had a vision. . .

I ordered Robin despite my deep reservations about his drooping genitalia. The wife has no such reservations.

He sure did but in this case it could be Howard's vision as the figure seems a bit more "enhanced" compared to the on screen suits.

I just want to know who to thank.... :ROFLMAO:

Hey all,

Those that have Batman in hand (& Robin I suppose) how is the cape?
What is it like for posing etc.?

I like to have a museum style pose for my figures so I'm hoping the cape can drape naturally

Thanks

Neil

I quite like Batman's cape. Like you I stick to museum poses and find wired capes awful if all you want is a natural drape. Robin's is wired and thus not so good.

For a museum pose, the cape on Batman sits really nicely. It drapes well and looks natural.

I haven’t tried any other poses, so not sure how it could look otherwise.

As @a-dev mentioned, Robin’s cape drapes less naturally. It can take some fiddling to get it looking nice in a drape. However, it can look really nice in a swaying pose.

Thanks guys, appreciate the replies.

I'm going to be getting both so Robin will take some faffing about with but I'll make the effort :)

We may even see the custom capes start appearing soon so they may be an option if I really need them :)

Thanks again

Neil
