do you like Huey lewis and the news?

"In '87, Huey released this, Fore, their most accomplished album. I think their undisputed masterpiece is "Hip to be Square", a song so catchy, most people probably don't listen to the lyrics. But they should, because it's not just about the pleasures of conformity, and the importance of trends, it's also a personal statement about the band itself."

Axe to the head

Cape looks great there Jye. :)

But it would look better with clips. :monkey3

Yes. :lol taking apart my DX joker's head today is probably the most nerve-racking thing I've ever done :lol

I can handle these puny "clips" now. Phfffffff....

:monkey2

I don't have any pictures of the process right now, but it's pretty simple:

1) Cut off the posts that usually fit into the holes on the body. I did this with an exacto blade. I heated it up with a flame first and it cut through the plastic like butter.

2) Cutting the posts off will leave the back of the triangle clips all jagged, so sand the back smooth. I used an Emery board. Sand how ever much you want to achieve your desired thickness. I actually plan to go back and sand them a bit thinner.

3) Cut a small section of black electrical tape to size. It will be making contact with the back of the clip (the part you just sanded) and the underside of the cowl.

Here's a reference for the right clip placement:

I have no idea why Hot Toys put the clip holes so ridiculously far out to the sides.

Please elaborate the bold :lol

Just do it this way Jye.

I just cut the pegs off (clean cut, no sanding necessary) and used clear, double sided, low tack tape. I cut out little triangle shapes with an exacto knife, placed it on the back of the triangle clips and placed it where I choosed (I put mine on the rubber suit). Then viola, better looking figure.

You can affix them any way you want this way, they're almost like colorforms or magnets. You can put them on the cowl, the cape, anywhere and they'll still stick perfectly.

Oh and if you're not interested in accuracy, I personally think he looks better without the goofy clasps. I don't know why they just didn't make it like a traditional cape. The stupid Schumacher films started that trend of the "cape clasps".

Please elaborate the bold :lol

The sticky part is facing the ceiling. It's a long strip that is stuck to the underside of the clips and the underside of the cowl. Glue only touches plastic with this method.

Yeah, I wouldn't put anything sticky on the rubber.

Also, you want the cape to be coming from under the tabs which wouldn't be posible if they are taped directly to the suit.

I need to replace my clasps further out.

And I personally think he looks better with the clasps. No clasps makes the neck look even longer.
