Yeah, I wouldn't put anything sticky on the rubber.

Also, you want the cape to be coming from under the tabs which wouldn't be posible if they are taped directly to the suit.

It's low tack 3M tape. I bought the acid free type. I've had them on for about a month on both figures. Comes off easily, no residue. I'm probably the most OCD when it comes to the condition of the rubber but I'm quite pleased with how this looks and feels. I'd watch out about that electrical tape on the cowl, it's going to have grey residue I bet (used to have this problem wrapping cord wires). I had them on the cape and cowl for a bit, but, like yours it just didn't look right. With the low tack tape, like I said, you can place them anywhere. They hold but it's not permanent, at all. You can stick them, futz with it, anything really.

I stuck them on the rubber suit and it flows really well. It looks like the cape is attached to them, without being attached to them.

Yours looks strange. I can tell they're all bunched up and not flat. They shouldn't be going upwards like that. When you have them affixed to the suit next to the cape and cowl (not over them) it's like a puzzle piece, sort of what like Hot Toys did, but without the peg.

The tape is on the underside of the cowl (seems like no one is getting that. :lol). I don't care about residue under there where no one will ever see it and it wouldn't damage the plastic. And if I did bug me, a little goo-gone would clean it up fine.

I admit that does bug me a bit.

What I would really like is to find a way to make them a ridged permanent part of the cowl the way the Takara is. Since I have already "destroyed" the underside of the cowl with my neck mod I might just glue a thin black piece of hard plastic under there the same way the tape is in place now.

The Takara one is actually what inspired me to go this route. I originally had them placed on the cowl but I didn't like it because the clips themselves are too rigid and thick. That's why I placed them on the suit.

Here are some quick photos to illustrate my point. Don't have adequate lighting at the moment so flash will have to suffice. I fiddled with the one on the right to show that you could move them where ever. It's touching the cape and the suit.

I keep getting the sense that you are misunderstanding how I have my clips placed. They are not on top of the cowl. They are next to it.

Here's a different angle:

If you look carefully in the above pic where the clips and cowl meet you can just barely make out the sticky side of the electrical tape that is on the underside of the clip and cowl. Circled here:

The only problem with this method is that the tape is flimsy and the cape easily lifts the clips up. I've futzed them better since the last pic I showed but you can still see them lifting up a bit from this angle:

That is my only real complaint about this method. That's why I said I would like to find something more ridged than electrical tape. Something that would keep the clips permanently fixed to the edge of the cowl. Then it would be identical to the Takara set-up. I'm confused about what is similar to the Takara set-up with your method. :dunno

I just need to find some very thin, black plastic that I can glue to the underside of the clips/cowl to keep them more ridged.

Also, the intent should be to give the impression that the cape is being held in place here:

Not here:

With the cape posterior of the clips as you have them the clips appear to be unrelated to the cape, which makes them superfluous.

Here's the reference again:

Live from the Hong Kong Mega Dome.

In this corner, weighing 250lbs of pure collection muscle and an undevoted love of Batman Returns, Maglor, with his misunderstood Batman Begins electrical tape cape mod!

His opponent, weighing in at 250lbs of gargantuan knowledge of everything Batman with an undivided attention to detail, DiFabio, who recently disappeared, some say to train in the russian snow, almost missing the 89 Batman release championship.

Tonight prize, who will win the Batman Begins Cape mod big championship belt!

Maglor comes out swinging with his sinister electrical tape left hook, DiFabio counters with a non acidic low tack tape block!

Maglor is still on the attack, his devotion to his mod is unweilding, but DiFabio returns fire with a quick release of brutal photos showing how his mod is better and less destructive then electrical tape!

Maglor blocks the first strike but is unable to block Difabio's viscious release of photos and takes a one two punch to the kidney! :horror

Oh Noo....that was close ladies and gentlemen!

Maglor is stumbling :google but quickly regains his footing and presents his own set of photo attacks trying to explain to Difabio that his mod is just grossly misunderstood and better, with that DiFabio takes a shot straight on the jaw, Maglor is relentless, he points out to DiFabio that his cape tabs are not even close to the cape therefore superfluous!

DiFabio is taking a bruising ladies snd gentlemen, will his safer yet not as accurate mod pull him out of Maglor's offensive!

DiFabio breaks free and stands by his mod and starts blocking Maglor's attacks and lands a few blows on Maglor's face by pointing out that his cape clips stick up too unnaturally!

Oh NO!!!

Both collectors are on the rope, bleeding, unable to scream Adrian Howard Cheng!!

Lolz cat has called it a draw!

I don't even know what the ____ you're talking about Maglor, I really don't. You're so neurotic. :lol

I know how you have your clip attached, you've said it multiple times now. BLACK TAPE, UNDER COWL, gottcha! If I see this one more time, I'm gonna explode,

All I said was, I had mine on, like it is sculpted to the Takara, like this,

See, on top of the cowl. But that isn't achievable so I placed them where I have them now.

That's all I said. :lol Not about what you did, or didn't do. No misunderstandings. :lol

BTW, here's what the clips look like on top of the cowl:

stage1ocb.jpg

That's Pennyworth's OC Bat that he bought from someone who attempted to glue the clips in place and did that. :slap

Here's how it looked after he cut off the ruined part and placed the clips where a sane person would:

Just realized that he has them on the wrong sides. :lol

I asked this in another thread, but no reponse yet:monkey2
So I'll ask again in here.....
Since I'm pretty new to Hot Toys and especially HT rubber suit material, I have a question.
anyone here have their batman suit expanded or even leaking because of constant pulling or playing it?
I want to be as careful as possible because of the difficulty to get just one of this figure.
many thanks!
