I love Wonder Woman so much I might just have to buy this even though I hate the seamless body and am disappointed in the sculpt. Are the horror stories of rubber bodies true? Like will they crack and leave me dead inside? Everything else is TOP NOTCH though, I just don't want a figure that's only gonna last me a couple years.

There is some truth in the stories of the rubber bodies, but it is not as bad as it is made out to be. It is mostly older figures and figures placed in extreme poses and left that way for prolonged periods. I have had some early Hot Toys military figures (like from 2003) that did deteriorate and crack. I also have the original battle damaged ED 209 and it has had no problems at all. Same with my Aliens Drake, Big Chap, Gamora and John Matrix. I don't do extreme posing, though, mostly just museum poses.

Generally, a seamless body will look good, but will never be as durable as one with joints. It's a trade off between looks and durability. So, all that being said, I wouldn't be afraid that a modern seamless body is going to melt on you, but if you plan on doing a bunch of dynamic posing, you may run into issues with creasing and possibly cracking down the line.

Do you know if it's the same with phicen?

Thanks! I wasn't planning on any dynamic poses for her, so hopefully I'll be alright.

Regarding rubber arms, if you don't do any dynamic posing with them, they should be fine. My Gamora, AoU and TDW LA Thor figures all have rubber arms and I haven't done any dynamic poses and they're fine. However, I do have the Abigail Whistler figure that also has rubber arms, and I left one arm in a dynamic pose where it was reaching back into the quiver for an arrow, and it left a few permanent white creases/stretch marks on the inside of the elbow joint.

Phicen is probably the leading company in terms of seamless bodies. I doubt HT is at their level (yet). Phicen also uses stainless steel internal skeletons now instead of plastic ones which again, I doubt HT is using. I've had some Phicen bodies in the the past and they are fantastic. the trick hear though would be getting one that matches in size and skin tone.

HT's female bodies are anatomically superior to Phicen's.
Yes they make nice seamless skins but their women all look like they got a bad **** job.
The hips/legs are also a bit unnatural.

The Hot Stuff seamless bodies are very nice. Good proportions and very natural.

I have 6 Phicens, and since they introduced the stainless steel skeleton into their bodies, they are the best bodies on the market.

Totally agree. Great bodies since the addition of the steel skeletons. Before that not so much.

You guys hit the nail on the head. I have Lady Death, Red Sonja, am trying to get the Sparta figure and all I can say is this kind of realism is rare even for adult collectibles. They are extremely poseable, feel sturdy, have weight and I have yet to see any damage from posing. I have purchased a few Van Helsing and Stormy Tempest bodies just in case Hot Toys comes up short with Wonder Woman I'll have a suitable replacement.

Phicen's anatomy sucks.

I didn't mention anything about anatomy :huh I believe the questions were more about durability than anything which is what I was addressing. Either way, Phicen bodies are good for video game/manga type characters IMO. Characters that have the ideal/slightly exaggerated features. Made my SS Lara Croft look amazing :dunno:

I have only bought their licenced figures, and have kept them in their original condition (no kitbashing). My first Phicen was their Domino Lady figure on the plastic skeleton, but I was too wary of posing it. I later sold it off. Since then, I have bought Stormy Tempest, Liesel Van Helsing, Z-Girl, Tomoe Gozan, Robyn Hood & my latest addition, Red Sonja. I was going to get Sheena, but the feet put me off.

Phicen have made a smaller bust figure, but they haven't yet used that one on a licenced figure.

I too have a bunch of phicen figs, the generic girls and a few themed ones such as Shi and the Sparta warrior. I have two which contain the plastic endo, and they are NOT as good. I broke the elbow of the Huntress (plastic) because it being stiff (due to plastic) could not tell if joint was oriented correctly or just the joint being a sticky one. Obviously it was oriented wrong so one slight more once of pressure, snap. The steel endos you can kinda feel if you're not sure and they are more durable.

I've kitbashed a few using the bikini clad female figs, most recently I used one for my Cameron terminator build. Worked ok.
