Maybe not 4 1/2 but this NECA figure has a hell of a lot more going for it. Including an appropriate sculpt and cool weathering.

I guess thats a prototype, the retail one is obviously jointed. And quite posable.

There are a lot of reviews online including this one, not me (don't know who this guy is, maybe he is on here!?).

I saw the NECA in person... like all their stuff its okay if you want McFarlane style figures. And the head looked a bit odd; semi-deformed maybe?

I will agree the HT could be better. but I'm guessing its just a quick mock-up so the teaser could be shown in conjunction with the movie. But even so this is a movie that really doesn't deserve figure... I'll stick with GoHero for now

Yup. That actually looks like Sam Worthington. I think Hot Toys made a figure of his stunt double.

You have any ideas on how to create more hidden yet still poseable joints, I am all ears?

I would buy a Bubo replica in a heartbeat. That's about it with the Clash of the Titan's line.

Seen the film on Sunday. I enjoyed it but it certainly dint touch the original but still was a good action flick.

It could of been epic but I found it way to short. You got to meet the Charters but before you could get to like them them they where gone. I think LOTR spoilt us in this genre with a 3 film master-peace.

Think I still buy this tho would look good beside leo

Are people having trouble with Leonidas? The arms on my Dutch figure are fine after a year.

If this film with these actors had been split into a trilogy, I don't see how it would have faired any better with the crappy story-line and bland acting. They should have used the same formula that made the first one great. Instead they made it worse than a Hercule's or Xena adventure.

I have it sitting on the desk in front of me as I type!
Considering it's scale and price it still puts that HT preview to shame. But my point is that NECA prototype (posted above) is the kind of quality I would expect from a HT Perseus?

They messed it up the moment they wanted to make fun of Bubo in the film. Mocking the greatest actor from the first film and deserving of a "Best supporting oscar" was their biggest mistake. Their second was not noticing that during that time period, only eunuchs had buzz cut's. Then comes the lack of the leading ladies bare bottom coming out of a tub and Perseu's mother strenghening him with some lactating breast milk...
