Yeah but you used bottle caps and q-tips to build your Vader, McGuyver - that's cheap.

I bought a HT Vader suit and the only reason I'm cutting into it is because I couldn't afford to buy the vest as well and there's a gap on the front.

Bit of a first world problem here, but having just unpacked my Hot Toys ANH Vader I've just discovered he is too tall for my display shelves!

Now I need to make/buy something new. :-/

Quick question: does Vader have long ankle pegs? And if not, has anybody tried using them? Might make his legs look a little less stubby...

Taking WTC belt buckle idea i used an ordinary steel 'flat top' wood nail...close to the same diameter as the HT stock belt buckle disc...then used a plunge drill and flat grinding stone to get the desired effect..then just cut the nail head off with a small hacksaw..

Matrix -- are you sticking with Ilforgino's cape/tunic set? I think it makes Vader look soft and cushy.

He'll have to stay in his winter attire for now..but i'm going to try make my own if i can find the right thin/black material..

It just seems like the only fabric that drapes properly and has the weight are those slightly soft/cushy stretchy fabrics, maybe lycra. As I think Matrix said, they are also not a jet black, almost an "off-black." The thinner fabric I've seen is the right black and thickness, but it doesn't crease/drape very well.

Yeah, I have my original (SS modded) ANH Vader in the Ilforigno gear as it looks great on the shelf... but in photos for some reason it looks like t-shirt material. Mine are the older ilforigno cape+tunic that look almost navy in photographs.

The HT ANH Vader cape isn't too bad -- except for the stitch line I hate -- but the robe sucks. Maybe the RO robe will be better.

It's pretty close the hot toys Vader 1/6 compared to the full size darth Vader helment used in the film ANH
I've compared it to the efx full size helmet and it looks good
I no it's not perfect with the nose plug and the mouth grill etc

Thanks mate It's hot toy's cape but with inner robe by sideshow it drapes miles better and it's thinner material
I found HT's inner robe chunky and not long enough and just rubbish
