Re: Hot Toys - DS001A-C - Iron Man 2: 1/6th scale Hall of Armor Collectible Specs & P

Just out of curiosity, if we were to buy just one, do we get to choose which sticker set to go along with it or do we get the whole set (mark 1-7)?

Re: Hot Toys - DS001A-C - Iron Man 2: 1/6th scale Hall of Armor Collectible Specs & P

You get the whole set. So if you buy 7 individually, you'd get 7 sets of stickers instead of just the 3. I guess the slight discount of the set of 7 is really just for the lack of stickers :lol

Re: Hot Toys - DS001A-C - Iron Man 2: 1/6th scale Hall of Armor Collectible Specs & P

Understandable though they should still give all 7 sets of stickers just in case someone sticks them crooked or something. No matter how I look at it, it seems like we, the customers, are the ones who stand to lose here.

Oh I just had a thought. What if these don't sell well which then prompts them to give it as an accessory for Mark 8 or future re-releases of Iron Man figures. I definitely can see it happening for Mark 3 v2.0 (if they do decide to make one, that is).

Included as a DX accessory maybe?

Re: Hot Toys - DS001A-C - Iron Man 2: 1/6th scale Hall of Armor Collectible Specs & P

That'd be awesome. And would make a DX worthy of the title DX.

Re: Hot Toys - DS001A-C - Iron Man 2: 1/6th scale Hall of Armor Collectible Specs & P

For this price I wish they had finished them sooner. It would make sense to bundle these with Iron Man figures at a discount, but it looks like after the next film it may not matter...

Re: Hot Toys - DS001A-C - Iron Man 2: 1/6th scale Hall of Armor Collectible Specs & P

I would have been tempted to re-work my whole display if these were priced right... But at around $200 MORE than the 89 Batmbile? Uh... no thanks. This makes Batman's ride seem like a bargain.

Sallah

Re: Hot Toys - DS001A-C - Iron Man 2: 1/6th scale Hall of Armor Collectible Specs & P

I don't see these selling unless there's a drought of good releases for half the year. Too many figures to secure rather than these. And why just sell this stand alone? Couldn't they just have included them with mark releases??...

Re: Hot Toys - DS001A-C - Iron Man 2: 1/6th scale Hall of Armor Collectible Specs & P

I would love to get all 7 only problem is I only got the Mark III bd version and the Mark 1 2.0. So I would need 5 more suits, say £150 a figure X 5 thats £750 then the cost of the Hall Of Armour. :thud:

Re: Hot Toys - DS001A-C - Iron Man 2: 1/6th scale Hall of Armor Collectible Specs & P

wow, at the price they were asking I thought these came with the figures! I was so excited I was going to buy the set of seven, thank god I read the fine print, more than a 100$ a piece? No thanks.

Re: Hot Toys - DS001A-C - Iron Man 2: 1/6th scale Hall of Armor Collectible Specs & P

exactly, custom ones won't match the accuracy or quality of Hot Toys. I think to pay an extra $25 for a HTs version that is officially licensed and is superior to custom versions is not that horrible.

The thing about these is that they'll be incredibly easy to illegally copy and resell for much cheaper. I mean, what are we paying for exactly? These things aren't exactly intricate and the hardest part to sculpt was already done years ago.

Licensing costs aside, Hot Toys must use some really expensive plastic :lol

Re: Hot Toys - DS001A-C - Iron Man 2: 1/6th scale Hall of Armor Collectible Specs & P

true, we will definitely see re-casts of these being made. And im sure that factors into their pricing. They know the hobby is full of people making customs and illegal copies.

... not that we condone or encourage such practices...

Re: Hot Toys - DS001A-C - Iron Man 2: 1/6th scale Hall of Armor Collectible Specs & P

Wow.. Guess I'll wait till Sideshow is desperate to unload them and break out the big discounts!

Re: Hot Toys - DS001A-C - Iron Man 2: 1/6th scale Hall of Armor Collectible Specs & P

If this is the first in line for the DS series, I wonder what they'll make for DS002 because I think they'll rethink of the whole pricing thing for the subsequent releases. But then again, they might not.

Re: Hot Toys - DS001A-C - Iron Man 2: 1/6th scale Hall of Armor Collectible Specs & P

The price is crap, should be less, just like all Hot Toys items . . .

but those hologram specs are GENIUS. It outlines the figure? That's fantastic. I don't have any Iron Man figures, but the 7 hall of armors all lined up with the corresponding figures would be the perfect display. I can't wait to see collection pics, I'm sure it'll be classy.

Soooo, this is the first of a new Diorama Series? DS001A?

ARMOR VAULT PLEASE!

When you actually slow down on 1/6 purchases and sit back and watch how pricing trends are going, all you need is popcorn and a cold beverage. This hobby is becoming pure comedy.

I can't wait to see what prices are for the average figure 2-3 years from now.

I'd guess $250-$300 for standard figures, but the Mark VII is there now :lol
