Yeah I had that one a few times:lol
The last one I put a new body on it and still was never happy with it. Maybe SS will do a Endor/Jedi Luke someday.

Daily routine:

Scroll quickly to scan for new pics and galactiboy posts, ignore rest. Hmmm... no new pics or galactiboy posts, time to move on.

This right here is why people need to RELAX. The hot toys figures being released now are SO FAR AND AWAY better than this. People ***** and complain about inaccuracies when they need to realize that its just a toy.

When it costs more than $100, it's more than a toy.

No... it's just an expensive toy. It doesnt increase my productivity or clean my house or make money for me... its poseable plastic and fabric... ITS A TOY. It's main function is play.

So here we go about the Collectible vs TOY debate.

HOT TOYS

Its a COLLECTIBLE TOY.

Whatever, sure, it's a toy. But the thing is, since Hot Toys has shown on other figures/franchises just how realistic and accurate they can make a production piece, everyone expects the same when Hot Toys gets around to their favourite franchise. Just because it's a toy, doesn't mean QC, accuracy, likeness, etc., are irrelevent.

He didnt say the quality should go down because its a toy. Just that people shouldnt get so high strung over it.

Well. . ."everyone" shouldn't have those expectations. HT has been hit-and-miss for as long as they've existed. Expectations that your pet license/character is gonna be one of the hits should be constrained by the reality that it could be the next Dastan or Indiana Jones.

Maybe I misunderstood, but the argument seemed to be, 'look at this Luke from 6 years ago, haha, Hot Toys is way better!' and that we should be happy with whatever HT releases, since the hobby's progressed.

Yeah, that's fine, too. Personally, I wouldn't pay full price for a miss, but that's me.

I write novels. I justify my collectibles by telling myself they're there for inspiration.

Alternately, you could argue that they're artwork.

Do you actually play with your "toys?" I mean, hold one in one hand, another in the other and make "Pew! Pew! I got you!" noises?

I see mine as a continuation of mankind's depiction of cultural idols as sculpture that has spanned millenia! haha

Man, we've improved since those days (and no that aint 2005!)

Whats sad is, even kenner star wars figures from the 70s will long outlast these kind of 1/6 HT figures. stone lumps, ivory lumps, plastic lumps all seem to be more durable than modern accuracy granting materials
