I agree it will be refined but being shown now before that folks will say it needs work and thats fine. Its a matter of how things are worded.

I know. Its cool. I appreciate that and I try to be able to word my posts when I don't like something but I agree some do go a bit crazy. :lol

Well, first of all I'm not blaming all the "hate" on one person. It's just the general vibe I'm getting from this thread.

And from one point of view, I can understand it. For Indy collectors, who have a number of Indy figs and collectibles already, this might be dissapointing because it's basically a redo of older figures, even with the Idol chamber column and everything...

But to people who don't have anything Indy in their collection, this is pretty much the figure to get. You'll get accessories which were seperate purchases back then with SS (Idol chamber environment), you'll get two iconic outfits, plus you get the best (non-custom) Indy figure out there.

So in my book, this is an awesome DX set.
I'm sure that if they hadn't included the Idol Chamber piece, people would be negative about it as well.

I'm not saying this figure is perfect, and never did. I'm sure HT could tweak the sculpt here and there to make it even more better (knowing HT they probably will), but the general negativity in this thread just comes from expectations not being met, IMO. :peace

 Amen to that!

I will no longer be an accomplice in your lies and trickery. The truth must be known.

:goodpost:

i find it funny how people are saying things like "weak, idol chamber and pedestal, already have one"

sorry that all TEN of these guys are saying that, where if they DIDN'T come with the DX jones, THOUSANDS will complain how they didn't include them...

btw, didn't you have to buy belloq in order to get these accs???

OH and on top of that, those very same ten guys that complained how these acc. are 'rehashed'...i KNOW for a fact that if HT didn't include them, they'll be saying "bah, they didn't include those accs...weak! SS ver FTW!!!"

i swear some here are like sharks waiting for HTs to drop a little blood in the water.

As one of the ten please read my post again. It clearly states why I must be rocked to for sure keep this. Your accusations are not correct with me. So I guess it's 9 then? :lol

Not to continue the complaining but since everyone else gets to :D :

I would rather they included either the arc or a professor suit instead of the map room suit (or a second head)

I intend to buy this figure - its great and the head WILL be improved - but I know for a fact I will never bother taking off the classic Indy gear and dressing the figure up in the Arabic gear.

If they do the map room clothes right, they'll fit over his regular stuff. What I wish they'd included was a city of Tanis floor model. The cardboard backdrops are lame. The idol environment was uninteresting to me when Sideshow made it (although Sideshow's was significantly more impressive). Maproom Indy without a maproom is kinda weak. I don't know. I feel like they haven't finished thinking this through.

Oh right, I never thought of that. I guess at the most, you only have to take the jacket off to put the robes over the top.

Actually, now that I think about it, his hat is off in the robes....
Is that hat actually removable?
In the wide shot that includes everything, it doesn't show an extra hair accessory or extra head sculpt?

It's true that some never got the idol pedestal and that makes it added value to them. But I think the issue is that not only was it already done by SS, but that SS did it better (a rarity, I know). So instead of spending the time and using up the "accessory" spot for something that was already done better, HT should have done something different like the Map Room floor.

And I don't see outright negativity. Just sad disappointment in the fact that HT's Indy is not twice as good as SS's Indy, as the price will surely be. It's overall better than SS's, I'll give you that, but not by much and not where it counts most--the headsculpt.

Sideshow has a floor extending out from beneath it, the engravings appear to be more distinct, and the moss looks better. I'm only going by pics so I can't say for sure. But, the whole Ex. Belloq package cost less than a regular HT figure. Something to consider.

It looks like the Hot Toys pedistal is lacking in moss quantity, especially the top side.

Yes I can't argue with that there is a serious lack of moss on HT's version
