Whoa. HT's pedestal is a lot less detailed. Another sign that this stuff wasn't ready to be shown.

I agree that it maybe wasn't ready and sideshows blows the hot toys pedestal out of the water but it's not something I really care about. I feel like it was just an after thought anyway.

I honestly find it hilarious when certain members pisstake about the quest for accurate Jokers and here people are assessing the levels of moss on a pedestal.

:lol

Huh. I just figured Sideshow was letting HT re-use their old mold for some reason. Sideshow's does look much better in those prototype pics, anyway.

people are assessing the levels of moss on a pedestal.

In their defense though.. when you plunk down the amount of money you are going to have to shell out for a HT DX set.. details are important and worth assessing... a mere resemblance won't cut it.. the details need to be there for this type of high quality collectible... otherwise you may as well just buy Hasbro figures..

It’s better to read first (and correct) before judging people.:wink1:

I’ve ever thought that this forum is about the exchange of ideas regarding a corporatly hobby. Even if there are several ideas to the same subject it must be allowed to bring up your own statement without bashing each other. :peace

I only could speak for myself but I’m not a HT hater. Quite the opposite is right. I think HT is the best company for 1/6 scale figures on the market. They’ve raised the bar for life like charakters to a level that not many other companies are fit to hold a candle to this. I love my T-1000 and IMHO the T-800 Arnie is one of the best figures (concerning the likeness) they’ve produced so far.

The target of most of the critic comments is to let HT know that there is room for improvements. :wave Sometimes these hints are not entirely selfless, that’s right. But in my case for example I had a good reason to point out why it would be better for HT not to recycle old (bonus) stuff even if I’ve got the SS set already. And the prototype phase is the best point in time for changes without to spend a fortune of money to fix something. So let HT know what and why you dislike something, maybe they change these flaws.

And yes, there was (and perhaps there still is) a chance to get the SS idol pedestal WITHOUT Belloq and instead of this figure with the Sideshow Indy.

My basic feeling is that It’s very „cheap“ from HT to bring us a DX figure with a special bonus item and „the best thing“ they do for it is to copy something that Sidshow has done better before...

:goodpost:

i find it funny how people are saying things like "weak, idol chamber and pedestal, already have one"

sorry that all TEN of these guys are saying that, where if they DIDN'T come with the DX jones, THOUSANDS will complain how they didn't include them...

btw, didn't you have to buy belloq in order to get these accs???

OH and on top of that, those very same ten guys that complained how these acc. are 'rehashed'...i KNOW for a fact that if HT didn't include them, they'll be saying "bah, they didn't include those accs...weak! SS ver FTW!!!"

i swear some here are like sharks waiting for HTs to drop a little blood in the water.

"There is another Jo.. Jo..nessss....." ARGH!!!

O.k. Seriously!

I was under high voltage right after I've heard that HT grabbed the Indy license. And with some modifications it still could be a great figure (I love the boots and the leather like whip already).

BUT what the heck rides HT to reboot the idol chamber??? :slap The Sideshow chamber is not perfect but very good. And the HT one don't will get any improvements. Quite the contrary: it don't will feature the floor plates!!! So HT please leave us alone with another idol chamber and bring us some Map Room additions.

For all of you who missed the Sideshow chamber because you don't like the Belloq: go get it and sell the Belloq! :wink1: Or you have the possibility to get one of the rare Chamber/Indy combos which pop up from time to time on eBay. If you've got your Sideshow Indy already part the second one out and keep the items you need as spare parts or for modifications. I love my Sideshow Indy/Chamber combo (see pics below) and there is no need for another one!

Or alternative (if it must be some Idol Chamber stuff) please do a Idol Chamber wall with "face" masks including a small ground plate for Indy, the torch and some arrows to combine this to a great setup with the Sideshow Idol Chamber environment.

And HT if you stick to your idea for the announced Idol Chamber please, please bring us a different idol (including "glass" eyes, maybe painted).

But I think if you really go in production with the shown set you will loosing money. Because there are so many people out there who own already the Sideshow set and they are not willing to pay 200 bucks for a reboot (like me). Take your chance and do something new and fresh and it will be a home run for you (and I will be in :hi5:). But only a DX version with old stuff and a face that's off don't will be a motivation to buy such an expensive set.

Merry Christmas.

Amen!

Money is a strong argument. What do you think, how many of the Belloq/Chamber sets are out there? Maybe 500?

O.k. let us assume only 250 people of these 500 are don't willing to pay another maybe $200 US for an almost identical set and for them DX and the Map Room cloth is not enough to change their minds. So it would be a loss of $50.000 US for HT.

And if the first HT Indy figure don't sell good would there be another one...?

Mister, you better pick a side and fight to the death like everyone else, or you better GTFO. And if you get kicked out of this slumber party, you better know that no one will ever invite you to another slumber party. Ever...

:tap

Alright Dev... You made me do this:

Indy looks like crap. The sculpt resembles some Harrison Ford stunt double. The jacket doesn't even look as good as SSs version. The hat looks stupid, is shaped wrong and should have just been attached to the sculpt. The idol pedestal is lame. The stands with the back drops are horrible and look cheap. I thought HT doing Indy would be the ultimate action figure but this is looking like a total fail at this point.

As far as i know the Lucas rep is pretty picky about likenesses and accuracy on figures.

:lol He was right when he bashed this before the promo pic hit.... HT missed the sculpt so the whole thing looks bad.

He was also right in that it was going to be difficult for Hot Toys to please those under the influence of the brilliant Indy custom work that has been done. Not sure how many fall in this category, but I know I do.

If this is true I wonder how the Cinemaquette Indy could happen. Hope Lucas licensing replaced the guy how gave them the permission to do this...

Maybe he had something in his eye when he gave it the once over.

You cared enough to disassociate yourself from it. :wink1:

Assessing, as in nitpicking? Nope. I had a gut level response to HT's pedestal and knew it looked bad compared to Sideshow's. I said so, then karamazov asked what the difference was so I went and looked at Sideshow's; I hadn't seen it since production pics were posted.

Hope that clears up your hilarity.

Thank you sir. Enjoy the slumber party, and all the slumber parties to come. :duff

on the HT DX Jones I hope the Indy Hat is not Molded on like the Sideshow Version. I hated that sideshows did that

I really hope we get the official pics soon I really want to see this guy now in a better light
