Or they are having big problems with Lucas Licensing, they have never worked with them before and we haven't gotten official specs for Luke yet either.

Well, with the 89' figs hitting next year, I've decided that I can and will swing Indy.:yess:

Everyone should be happy this has been delayed a couple of months.
That really can only mean that Hot Toys is in fact working on improving.

Supposedly it's been delayed to November adding yet ANOTHER HT release for Nov/Dec! Really those two months are going to be clogged if true.

The Anti-Santa is happy about this news.
It looks like most of us will be buying our presents from the service stations this year.

Ugh. Even more time for everyone to muse on whether the sculpt will be updated or not.

^ Hahahaha.. by this time, I think it's supposed to be updated. Heck, the initial release schedule was August. It won't be delayed for so long (3 months) unless they're making an improvement. Fingers crossed! :)

Hopefully not, one would hope Spielberg has his finger on the edit button for these movies!

Let's not forget that the term "Special Edition" was coined for a Spielberg re-edit/re-conceptualization of one of his films more than 15 years before Lucas' tinkering began.

It could be argued though that the CE3K re-issue is a better film than the original release.

Let's see what Spielberg has to say re: ROTLA Blu-Ray at the 30th Anniversary screening's Q & A (on Sept 12th in L.A.) If anyone is in L.A. next week, try to get in; it's hosted by LA Times' Hero Complex. It is rare to be able to have a public forum with Spielberg specifically taking questions relating to ROTLA.

Very true about the Spielberg special editions. If Lucas had done Jaws he would have done a CGI Bruce years ago.

Still, the general feeling is that we'd rather this figure was meddled with!

Yes, Spielberg has made Special Editions of some of his films (CE3K, ET). But the biggest difference between him and Lucas is that Spielberg has always ensured that the original versions also be available, almost always on the same release.

Also, Lucas wanted to add lots of cgi touches to RAIDERS, but Spielberg put his foot down. The only thing he allowed was some minimal matte clean up and things like removing the reflection from the glass in the cobra shot. But even those Lucas had to fight tooth and nail for.

Spielberg will protect RAIDERS and the other INDY films from Lucas' senile tinkering.

God Bless him.

There is already cgi in Raiders, watch Gobler drive off of the cliff, its very obvious this has been retouched.

It's been re-touched, yes... but you haven't seen the all-digital shot Lucas commissioned ILM to do that Spielberg refused to cut into the movie. Lucas also wanted to re-do all of the Ark ghost stuff, too. Among other things.

And I do think there's a big difference between re-touching and cleaning up shots and actually creating all new ones and adding new FX via CGI. That is the line that Spielberg would not let Lucas cross with RAIDERS.
