oh cmon the hateing on kilmers batman is unjustified. he did a good job, i liked him better then bale. and personally i really like the panther suit. heck, thats the suit i own myself.

*winces at the inevitable onslaught from Baleheads :)

They are both very different sets of films which is why Nolans take is so fresh, I think the schumacher films were kitsch and cheesy but intentionally so.

He did a good job in an average film i think, whos to say he wouldnt have excelled with a better script and better all-round production. Nolans films are such a success as he has created a whole different world and made trhe characters alot more human and believable.

Decided to experiment with some scuffing and scaring and nicked up the cowl, sorry for the bad background, but it was a better light source :slap

I hope you bought a second one. :horror

Thats pretty cool, Batfreak! I never could bring myself to use the glasses, even back then. I think the only one I did use was an extra Robin glass I ended up with.

Seeing the trailer was one of my favorite things about visiting the store. My parents were pretty good about letting me pick up stuff from there. I remember getting the cd single for the U2 song, which came with a free 27x40 movie poster. And I also got the Robin movie t-shirt, which I actually still have.

I also have good memories of hunting and collecting the Kenner toys, although I stopped before that awesome batcave playset came out. That was the same summer I started a new Middle School that I hated, so it was nice to have something positive to look forward to at the time.

I know my pics aren't as good as some but seeing as I'd uploaded them figured I'd share

i know what your saying, the new bat films are extremly different from the last ones. but see, that is what i do NOT like about them. they are too heavy on the realism and philisophical humdrum that i just dont care for. joker wasnt joker for me, just another killer pshycho trying to "prove" some kinda extisential belief or something heavy handed like that. same thing with Ras. just not into them, its all YAWN. i'd much rather watch tommy lee and carrey acting like hyper kids blowing stuff up and laughing like crazy, penguin spewing black stuff biting peoples noses or joker making "killer" commercials useing his smilex and not the brand XSSSSSSSSS. the older movies were fun, plain and simple. the new movies miss the fun and fantasy of batman, and i didnt experience the same feeling of excitement that the older movies had.

Seeing Batman next to Superman....it really is a shame the display base we ended up getting. Takes away from him in some ways I feel.

Hopefully Returns Bats gets something cool, along with a Bruce alt head!

And now we are in March, so I'm waiting on you Toys2.....!

for a figure that is supposedly already "out", how come not everyone has theres already? ebay still has a ton of preorders, so how come some people on here got theres already?

Most of us either ordered from dealers overseas or ordered before January 1st to avoid waiting on the split shipment. Early bird gets the worm and all that. :)

Im not a huge Superman fan but, I love the color contrast so much between the two standing next to each other it makes me want to go ahead and grab a Superman to pair next to my Batman when he gets here.

i see what your saying but its all a matter of opinion and what you prefer, theres just more of an aire of realism about the Nolan pictures and i think thats why they appeal to a wider audience. Plus B & R kinda killed off the chance of any further Schumacher productions and rightfully so what a hideous film

YOUR NOT SENDING ME TO DA COOLERRRRRR :)

personally, though i dont consider it "good" by any means, i can still enjoy B&R for what it is, good campy fun. yes it was missing the darker more dramatic elements of the first 3 films, but its a great kids movie. i didnt hate it with a bloodred passion like others did. i guess i got a soft spot for it cuz i saw it in the theater as a kid. but i dont really understand all the hype surrounding the nolan movies, aside from ledgers untimely (or perhaps i should say "timely") death just before the movie hit. no wonder it made big bucks, shameless marketing of a celebrites death. i can see i guess why older fans might like it, but for me i think they are too adult and have neglected the fun fantasy aspect of batman that made the older films great, thus alienating the kids who love batman as well as adults like me who grew up with the comic book style films. i just hope the next series goes back to the comic book routes that made the original 3 films great and memorable.

The soundtrack that I quite liked back then certainly did not sound like it catered to kids.

Cape looks phenomenal tommy! :clap

Thanks :hi5:

I'm really gutted that when Joker finally arrives I'm going to have to split them up tbh. Really love looking at that shelf with Supes and Bats together :(

Nice pics, tommy. Really digging the cape in the gauntlet pose. :rock

The gauntlet pose? If you mean my old one probably better off calling it the Maglor pose :lol

Looking at this thread is the emotional equivalent of having a toothpick shoved in your urethra.

Of course you left out the part where TDK is the 2nd highest grossing movie ever and made over a billion dollars. That's not alienating many.

Now I'm not sticking up for Nolan's version because I agree with you to a point -- I believe there should be an element of fantasy to the Batman world (although B&R is just inane to me). I also believe Nolan's Batman is a little too CSI at times considering there's a guy in a Batsuit running around. I don't believe the Nolanverse will be remembered 10 years from now quite as fondly as it is today. Not saying people won't like them, just mean the ecstatic reverence will soften. I think people will look back at these as somewhat dry, stilted and emotionless.
