Wish HT would do a quick Toy Fairs rerelease of this...with a Keaton HS. It would sell out. BR Batman just doesn't look good right now...

Got a new and better camera so thought I would share a few pics. Enjoy

So, I got my second Keaton Bats delivered today... Paid $275 shipped and everything is perfect, all accessories, some of them even still bagged.

Problem is, this happened:

PERS is broken, out of the box. The joystick on the back is in a fixed position and I can't even move it (not that I'm trying all that hard)

Is this an easy fix? Should I even bother the seller? (He was pretty cool) and if I were to, what's a fair way for me not to be an ******* about it? Should I just return it? Because if it's something that's easy to fix, then I'll just call it a day. But I can't just have Bats looking like that.

Thx in advance.

Franpincho....did you buy it used? If it was opened, then that's damaged goods and it's the seller's responsibility. Especially at that price.

If you broke the seal on the box and it was like that, it's not the seller's fault.

Thanks for nothing.

It was used, seller claims it was fine when he had it but he didn't check the PERS when he packaged it and sent it to me.

Auction stated thee were no problems with the figure except a bit of dust.

And if I were to try and fix it, what's a fair partial refund to ask for? (Seller responded asking me that)

I bought a dx Sparrow and couldnt get pers eyes to move ,so ran under hot water from faucet and was able to move after. Congrats on the bats hope you can fix yours good luck.

I personally wouldn't get water anywhere NEAR a Hot Toys Batman. Can't possibly be a good idea.

If you really are willing to apply heat, use a hair dryer or craft gun.

Seller is offering a $75 partial refund. Should I take that and try to fix it myself? After all, I just wanted an extra DX09 to sit on the Batmobile....

A new head with working PERS is $150-$190. These go for $400 and up new now. Used are 350 and up.

Maybe $275 was too good to be true?

I think with the $75 partial refund ($200 total), that's a pretty decent price for a DX09 that you pretty much just intended to sit in your bat mobile.

Looked around for ways to fix the PERS, and the best solution I could find is moving the eyes individually, which isn't too bad IMO. It'll basically be like the QS001's eyes. Plus, the eyes will probably just look straight forward anyway if he's sitting in the batmobile.

If nothing else is wrong with it (did you check the body, suit, the lights in the base, the accessories?), ask for $80 and keep it. After you get that back, unscrew the PERS panel with a small phillips and adjust the eyes manually. $195 for a Batmobile Batman is a good deal.

Take that deal and run with it or at least take it and sell it to me. :D

Thanks guys.

Yeah, everything else is perfect, and i'm planning on fixing the PERS myself.

Took the $75, seller was actually very good about it.

The way I see it, like many here, $200 for a 100% complete Keaton Bats with broken PERS is not all that bad. He'll be sitting in that car until he disintegrates anyway.

^After googling "How to fix hot toys PERS," it almost seems inevitable that all of our DX09 and DX08 PERS will break. Makes me kinda want to open mine up and see if there's anything I can do to help delay/prevent that from happening. Maybe add some silicone grease to help keep things from sticking?

Fran, if you don't mind, could you let us know how your PERS fix goes? Would like to see what you end up doing to makes your functional again.

Will they break if it's never used?

For sure. If everything else fails, at least I'll try to keep them in a fixed position so that he doesn't look weird.

I'm actually a little worried about playing with the PERS on my good one to be honest. I think I'll just leave that feature alone.

^I guess not, but from what other people were saying, the DX09 and DX08 PERS mechanisms were made of very thin, cheap plastic that will eventually fail, even with normal use. I rarely ever repose the eyes on mine, but would still like to have the option to without fear of things breaking. HT's has apparently improved the PERS design since the DX08/09, so not sure if this is a problem with their newer figures.
