Yeah. I love the color too. The way the light reflects off the cape. HT really did a great job with sourcing out the material for the cape.

Honestly - this is THE live action Batman design for me.

Mr Burton should be eternally praised for his vision.

I tried it on the spare cut offs first and it was fine.
I used this technique quite a lot on some of my Indy customs, as long as it's well watered down in washes it doesn't stiffen the fabric. Let you know when it dries fully. But the tester was perfect.

And regarding the the Returns suit. I love it as well, just prefer the rawness of the 89 suit. But as far as the movie goes, with you 100%.

I meant why do you like Returns the movie better than Batman 89? Or do you just prefer the costume?

Both.

I'm a big Tim Burton fan, and Returns is more definitively Burton. And I love how dark and quirky it is.

Well yes, like I said to prabha, if you did not get them first time around, then more power to you and well done for getting them now.

Which I suppose answers my own doubt really. There clearly is still a market for them because not everyone got them at the DX01 and DX02 stage.

As for the Keaton Bat. He is, in my opinion, the best ever HT figure.

The Keaton Batmobile is the reason I decided to get the Keaton Batman and it is awesome. The only thing is I wished they made a Keaton head sculpt (although that was in the 2nd movie) to go with it..

But it is an outstanding action figure.

haven't touched my DX09 for a few months, decided to change his pose and futz his cape... also move the eyes and then the PERS broke(can only move the left eye)!!!!! i unscrewed the back panel but i couldn't take it out as its really tight! any tips guys???

Well, I think it worked out fine, I had a slight case of it lightening when it dried because of the flocking, felty nature of it. I know you had a similar problem. So it's very dark grey almost black. It's hangs fine, as well as it did without any paint. I actually discovered it goes really soft when wet, so if you pose it on him damp (with water, not paint ) then it dries amazingly.

Regarding paints I use Windsor & Newton, just because they are the best quality you get in this part of the world. Can't remember what the US brands are, long time since I went art supply shopping in LA.

No coming off once it's dry. It's permanently one with the cape. Once acrylic dries it becomes water tight. You can actually use it on t-shirts and wash them.

With anything though if you are gonna give it a go, do it bit by bit. Add a wash, let it dry and so on.

Well mate, if anyone can make it work you can. I would recommend doing very watery washes, then when it dries, dampen the entire cape and pose on figure. It dries really nicely whilst hanging.

I'm a the thir wash now and it looks already way darker

Watered down acrylics.
Half water/half paint.
