Hot Toys gets POTA!!!!!!!

I'm really quite happy with Matt Fall's version of this character...he perfectly captured McDowell in that classic sculpt...plus, if the hair would have the same appearance as it does on the two gorillas, I definitely prefer the appearance of a good sculpt instead of the "real" hair...but I'm always ready to be surprised ...

That's the spirit! We need to wait and see before we judge. Only the gorillas had the long manes I'm sure the Chips and Orangutans will have short, tighter manes. I do look forward to seeing them. Luckily we have SS just in case they don't come out well. Mat Falls did a wonderful job on Cornelius.

I thought the Caesar sculpt was more Roddy than the Cornelius. Cornelius was just "lacking" something, a good sculpt just "off" somehow.

I also love the Cornelius sculpt Ironman, but it reminds me more of Dr. Galen than Cornelius.

Angel that extended Conquest is still coming to me, right?

Most probably they are. Which is why we only see a closeup of only one.

I believe you're right on this. Some of the promotional shots show them close enough together to compare, and they look pretty close to me(all apes Do NOT look alike, at least not to me).
As to the SST Apes, I'm going to have to buck the trend and say that I think Cornelius is closer than Caeser.But then, I've always liked the original make-up best;kind of like the "scruffy" look...PS

Well, as Conquest was actually his first leading ape role, and better than Battle, I would have to say that was his best ape movie. He was a crucial, yet somewhat background character in Planet, not in Beneath, and shared the spotlight with Kim Hunter in Escape. The POTA series did not truly become his until Conquest.

i will have to wait for these POTA gorillas to show up ..cause ..the last ones from hot toys never did ...safar as i can tell ..i saw them advertised on sideshows web site (APE TREX )but ..it was always sold out ..
and on other web site it was $300 to $500 for one out of my range completely
i see it says they should arrive on the third quarter ?? what ever that means ??
rite now i am currently working on the 6million dollar man out fit from the title sceen the beige/white suit and pants with the red turtle neck shirt .
well bye for now ...
i will post photos later if i can figure out how !!!!!!

Welcome edojoe49. Other than the Sideshow Planet of the Apes offerings, these new Hot Toys gorillas are the first, decent apes we've been given. You confuse me when you mention "the last ones from hot toys", because there have been no others produced from Hot Toys until now and these are not even available other than for pre-order.

I hoping that Mat Falls will get a chance to re-sculpt Roddy for the Cornelius PF!!! His Zaius PF sculpt was a GREAT improvement over the already great 12" Zaius sculpt.

Welcome edjoe49- was that the King Kong vs T-rex? Anyway if you want to post photos you'll need a server i.e. Photobucket.com works great. after you register all you have to do is upload the photo to their website than copy the URL: address and then paste it here. I hope this helps.

I've also enjoyed the bash that Dave puts on at Comic Con for the last four years... so I like to use the Freak board links whenever possible.

After watching the awesome new version of Conquest I think it would be very cool if HT could make the apes while SS makes the human characters like, Breck, Kolp, MacDonald, policeman, and a Riot cop. One of the best things about SS are the amazing sculpts they make.

When you see "1st, 2nd, 3rd or 4th quarter" attached to a figure pre-order page, that refers to the release window of that figure. The calendar year is divided into four parts or quarter and each quarter represents a three month span. So in the case of the Hot Toys POTA Gorillas it is the 3rd quarter... which translates that the figure is planned to be released between July and Sept of this year.

And PM is short for private message. You can sent any member of this board a private message without any of the other members reading them. The link to send one is located on the top right side of the web page under your board name.
