I'm not familiar with any waiting period for photos.

For posting photos within a post:

There is a "Manage Attachments" link in the Additional Options section which is just below the posting window for each reply you submit to the board. However there are size restrictions to these attachments. Some people on the board have no problem dealing with this restrictions. I like bigger pictures. So... I credited an account with Image Shack and I up link my photos there. When I wish to use a photo, I use the link provided after I up load that photo and I directly post that address (involving a cut and paste technique) within the text of my posting.

Usually you can see a photo address (between the quote brackets) when you reply to someone's post that has a photo inside it. Just FYI.

After you have posted that photo address you can Preview Post to see it the transfer was successful. If it is not in the Preview Post it will not be in the psoting. An error must have occured somewhere.

For adding an avatar (a photo below your name):

There is size limits as well I believe... it been awhile since I did mine. Perhaps the photo you wanted to use was too big?

Under your User CP, on the left side menu, there is a link "Edit Avatar". After clicking it, you can choose from the options provided. I use Option 2 and upload my own picture from my hard drive library of POTA photos. After you upload, that avatar should appear within this page as your chosen avatar. You might have to click a "use this avatar option... I'm not sure.

Hope any of this info helps. :D

Also if any of my ape brethren have better pointers, pleeeease chime in.

You want to adjust the time to GMT -5 hours.
I had seen the Ape-xplorers but you confused me when you called it a Planet of the Apes figure. They are, at best, caricatures of simians.

Did anyone notice that the Hot Toys Gorillas have not cracked Sideshow's top 10 most popular products all week? Not even Ursus? :horror:horror:horror

Is anyone else concerned about the line's popularity?

It might be more of a reflection of Sideshow's tardiness in posting the pre-order than anything else, but still.

Is anybody else nervous for the line?

Your thoughts?

I'm still considering canceling my Hot Toys pre-order for these 3 gorillas. I really see myself canceling this in time. It just seems to be so much $$$, and I don't feel that I'm getting enough bang for my buck. I'm very happy with my less expensive Sideshow gorilla figures. :angelsmil

I really want General Ursus only. I'm getting the Captain because I have trigger fingers and I already paid up front. I'm very happy with the Sideshow figures, too. If I could afford more Sideshow bodies, I would be buying them up as well. But, as I am bleeding money left and right, I've got to at least make some kind of blockage somewhere...

I am going to cancel the Zaius PF if they do not fix the jacket and if the doll he is holding for the exclusive version has broken legs and is not complete. I mean, if I'm going to shell out that much chimpchange, at least give me a screen-correct version. I don't want to spend that much and still have to fix it. That's what the naked figures by the bucketfuls on Evilbay are for...and they don't cost THAT much.

I don't know. I see a lot of non ape regulars saying that they're picking them up and that should be good in addition to the real POTA fans. Then, I see POTA fans balking at them and not helping out. Guess we will have to wait and see how the Asian market weighs in on them.

After seeing Hot Toys work on Marlon Brando as The Godfather, I can't wait to see how they tackle Charlton Heston. :monkey5 :monkey5 :monkey5

I think that Sideshow took too bloody long after the Hot Toys announcement to make the apes available for preorder. :monkey4

I'm not too worried about the line. My Ape City lives and breathes with or without Hot Toys.

Actually, I think SS is realigning themselves with other distributors. Giving them first shot at making some sales. I believe all sales go through SS anyway, right? I'm not sure if many of you know but years ago when SS gave the consumer "first chance" to buy directly from them, SS was one of the first companies to cut out the middle man. A lot of distributors got upset with this tactic and vowed to boycott SS and not carry their products. Over the years I assume this attitude has waned. All said and done... I believe SS knows what they're doing.

I'm sorry to hear about all the planned cancellations. Times are tough, and may get tougher still but at least we have this board and the many talented members within. :peace

Oh yeah... I remember. I worked part time at a collectible toy shop during this "manuver" by Sideshow... boy was the owner pissed!!! He too vowed not to deal with Sideshow. Called them greedy bloodsuckers. In the end he didn't make good on the boycott, but he did cut his orders from Sideshow considerably.

Now, that toy shop is no longer in business... like most of those type of shops in this economy.

I'm not planning on cancelling anything Ape related.

As for Star Wars product... well, that is a different story. :banghead:banghead:banghead

That's why you're the scribe! :D
