I would be tempted to get a racing suit stark but I want all the armor versions first.

Well, I believe the Gunmetal Grey Iron man said that before we got a chance to buy it. Also that not for sale could very easily mean that particular piece isn't for sale or this angle on the figure isn't for sale yet. Could be they're just gathering interest in it. Its not like the other figures at the Expo though. Those where all special takes on the Iron Man. This is a legit piece we've seen made by other companies. That in of itself gives plenty of credence in that it has a decent shot of being made. The others won't be cause they're just people having fun with the armor much like SS has done with things at SDCC.

The Gunmetal Grey was made as a item just for a store and turned into something they made. I think you better get ready to eat you hat.

No the grey version was never marked as "not for sale" to gauge interest before it was released. It was always intended to be sold exclusively at a store and at comic cons.

This will be my first HT Iron Man figure. Suit looked awesome in the movie.
Can't wait to see painted up pics, looking forward to see how good the silvery metallic finish comes out on certain parts of the suit.

It's funny that people are still complaining about the proportions of the MKV...Hot Toys will not get it right, get over it. Look at all the other MKs

Hot Toys will never get it right, that's why I never got into these figures even though they don't look off in person.

still a prototype. i'm sure they will make this better. for us... it's a teaser. the better version will be released- they always know how to generate the rave for their products. let's keep our fingers and toes crossed.

i know exactly what you mean... i need all the armors in possession as quickly as possible... i need my IM fix

Makes 2 of us. :hi5:

Well, it was an exclusive for one particular store and just SDCC. I don't recall it being sold any place else but I didnt track the history either. That being said I wouldn't be shocked if we see the Stealth Iron Man figure.

Are the rest of the figures in that magazine?

if memory serves the Gunmetal IM was first announced as silly thing HK exclusive in the Milk magazine. Then SSC carried it as SDCC exclusive. And if I am right it was also sold in 2 more comic/anime/hobby convention in asia.

That's correct. It was definitely sold in Taiwan and I think Singapore.

There ya go. Learn something new everyday. :lol

They may very well not make the stealth but I think that it just might seeing as how its the most realistic design that was at the expo and we've seen other products like it.

Could a mod please merge the two HT Mark V prototype threads? Seems a bit superfluous.

Anyway, someone on Toy World already photoshopped the magazine scan to 'correct' the proportions. I agree:

Nice. I just don't understand why they keep giving Iron Man a narrow torso.

My guess is that they didn't want this one to be the same size as the Mark IV and VI so what other choice did HT have? They forced themselves into a corner. But this is just conjecture from me.

Eagerly anticipating the official pics. Since this was a magazine scan, the official pics might actually contain some timely alterations to the figure.

why shouldnt they? I mean look at the mech test boots and compare it to the mark 2 and 3, its clearly waayyy thicker!

Looking forward to the offical pics! His torso looks a little thin and it looks like he is high-riding his under pants a little bit. :)

Love it. Can't wait. If no one else wants it good because it makes me getting one all that much easier.

It's either because HT wants to have a stylized look for the IM armors like the comics, where the armor pieces are applied onto a body suit (judging from the Ultimates), or that HT believes that Tony Stark has stopped eating, and the armor has been filtering his bodily wastes and fluids to provide him with nutrition through transdermal osmosis, making him become a supermodel Tony Stark with very small body.

That's why whenever we see him without the armors on, he's wearing a body suit to look healthy.
