Didn't they explain the narrow waist was for articulation? Either way, they'll have complaints from people. Damned if you do... you know the rest.

I actually still want them to explain how that would actually aid the waist articulation.

Cause they've had enough with people calling their V1 batman, 'fatman'. If they did make him bulkier and fatter. We have another group of people, saying that 'how this 'fat' one, makes the rest of previous IM figures look too thin" or maybe posting screen shots of the CG "thin" iron man and complaining how fat he is etc. You cant make everyone happy.

I truly believe that whatever thin or fat iron man HT decides to make at the end of the day to be the best product that they put a lot of effort for us. As I'm sure they always try to give it more than your moneys worth. And if there's a minor 'problem' I'm sure there's a reason which they won't bore us with.

No, they said the Mark IV was skinnier overall — especially the chest — to supposedly allow for more articulation. The scrawny stomach in the oversized rubber diaper shouldn't affect articulation.

for everyone ______ing about the waist, have you happened to notice it isn't finished?? look at the pic of the movie one and compare to the PROTOTYPE(as in not finished yet) :lol just chill people, god getting so waorked up it seems, hot toys will pull through dont worry

Why do people think the Mark V is significantly skinnier than the other suits?

It looks very close in proportion to the 3/4/6.

This is the same thinking that went on with Batman's suits.

Nice. I just don't understand why they keep giving Iron Man a narrow torso.

They keep giving ALL their figures narrow abdomens. It's not just Iron Man... and I also don't understand why. They seem to have corrected the wide should problem they had on everything but they still tend to do waists/abdomens too small/narrow proportionally.

It's not just HT. traditionally many 1/6 figures don't perfectly replicate the bulk of a real person in small scale.

It's just really noticeable on characters with complex outfits, skin-tight or otherwise, that aren't just regular clothing. And HT is really popular for attempting to tackle these sorts of characters in this scale (Batman, Iron Man, etc etc).

This is getting out of hand!!! They are watering down the market with these

I don't see how that's the case. Only the Mark IV and Mark V have been shown (and the latter isn't even finished) and they'll more than likely be released in different quarters of the year.

I think they are gonna milk us till the release of IM3. Just like what they did with the first line, that was finalized with mech test at the starting of IM2

The Mark IV is Q3 of this year. The Mark V at earliest will be Q4 but most likely Q1 of next. Look for the Mark VI to be either Q1 or Q2. Basically HT wants Iron Man fans with something always on order. While it sucks for collectors who buy multiple lines it makes perfect sense for HT who is planning for the Iron Man collector and not taking into account "multiplists"...Sideshow often caters this way as well and its only the multiplists who complain. The BDs if there are some will probably be the Q3 of 2011 and by then you'll get your first look at whatever incarnation of Iron Man will be in the Avengers which will probably be prepped for Q1 or Q2 of 2012. Its going to be a long haul for IM

Yeah, enough to keep us satisfied till the next installment.

I like this concept :yess::clap

you selling a crap version of wolverine for $500 and labeling it as a jim lee hot toys version is much better eh? :rotfl:cuckoo:

I don't believe another company can produce IM like HT can!

As soon as its open for preorder, ah be there!

What HT really has it going for them is HS and paint op. In that regard they are undisputed the best mass market 1/6 company. But in term of a ironman figure, which is mainly a robot, (and seriously, the RDJ HS is below par of HT standard IMO) there are many companies that produce either just as good or better products.

Well in 1/6 scale who would that be? There's some good robot stuff out there in smaller scales from Japanese makers.

:lol well, most japanese robot are about 100m + tall, so I don't think we'll see any company that will make one of those robots in 1/6 any time soon. But in similar size as the HT IM, takara, bandai, yamato are the big companies comes to mind. There was a smaller company called hunky tonk toy that was gonna make a votom scopedog in 1/6 but that never materialized. probably the price and the economy kill it off. Shame too because they got pretty far with it.
