On the plus side, this is the 25th Anniversary of MGS. There have been a few announcements and teasers with MGS Ground Zeroes, and the franchise is back in hot demand. So maybe the delay wasn't such a bad thing (perhaps it was planned).

I mean they even had that japan poll to see what figure they would make next. All the other franchises that were supposed to continue but got cut off is because of lack of interest. But belive me theres lots of interest in MetalGear. We are some of the most hardcore fanboys out there
There was a poll that mgs won it was against superman and 89 batman and they had figure's way before mgs .

The point i was making is that HotToys in a roundabout way confirmed future figures. And also confirmed the huge interest in future figures
But if the snake and the boss don't sell very well we won't get nothing in the future.
If nothing else.....worst case, that they only follow up with one or two more figures from MGS3....hopefully they at least make an "Ultimate Naked Snake DX Version" with two sculpts (please no PERS lol), newly designed body with jungle fatigues and battle-damaged wounds to recreate his battle-damage shirtless look, and a ****load of weapons and gear.

Thing is, the polls really have zero effect on HT releases.
Can't think of a single result that has bore a figure or a 'which licence first' etc.
It seems that the purpose of the polls are just to build hype, and for Hot Toys to tell us that they're planning to work on those licenses. It doesn't really matter what gets the most votes - everything will eventually be made.
I wish MGS was in the same situation as Batman and Iron man when it came to figures from hot toys. By that I mean you are pretty confident figures will just keep coming! It does blow not knowing for sure. Customs and what not are cool but when it comes to grail figures, like Solid Snake is for many of us, you want to know a company like Hot Toys is making them.

I don't remember who said it last year but someone from Hot Toys wanted to do a another Wolverine this year and the new one just popped up.
I think a MGS4 Raiden will be great and all... but ******* give Solid Snake some love. Between Medicom and Inflames, there is enough of ****ing Big Boss already.
Correct. There was a Stallone poll with Cobra, and a Star Wars poll with characters that will never be made in any universe. These are clearly just done for fun, and are there to build up hype of some sort. HT's business operations are way too sophisticated to make any real decisions based on any poll that only a certain subset of collectors is going to use anyway.

Batman/Avenger guys are quite smug in knowing they'll get more and more figures, even of side characters appearing in one film and who isn't a main character.
The vast majority of licenses has absolutely zero assurances of more figures or even news concerning the license.
It's a damn shame, especially concerning a 25 year spanning license like MGS which has accumilated fans over the years.
Seriously im a huge mgs fan but just been turned off by the bootlog big boss figures the big boss customs .damn shame there so many other characters.
I totally agree about lack of figures for other MGS characters.
I'm usually more of a Solid Snake fan than Big Boss, but being that I'm playing through MGS3, I'm definitely in Big Boss-mode right now, and these figures can't come soon enough.

MGS3 is the height of Big Boss's coolness and has been tumbling down the mountain ever since...
The last MGS that is worth to be in the Solid franchise.
It's got me hoping HT will do a Tiger Stripe fatigue, two-eyed sculpt, no bandanna or a removable one would be awesome, though I'd be more than happy with a molded bandanna like this version. I think that tends to be better with the wrinkling.
The cloth bandana on the Inflames BB proves to me that it should never be not molded. Fabric tied off end sure with a wire in it, but the bandana actually on his head made out of fabric doesn't work.
I hope the Fatigues version has two headsculpts like you said with one and two eyes.
I would dig a Escape from Groznyj Grad Version myself
