Got one (well not yet in hand, but it's ordered) through a friend in Japan. Paid $399 for it, including shipping and taxes etc... etc...

A bit steep, but hey

Been checking them for a day or two now and the average going price seems to be around 29.500JPY, which is around €273 or $355.

Surprised we haven't seen more pop up on eBay yet. Still not 100% sure how the whole "1 exclusive per customer" deal is working out yet (particularly since there are 4,000 of the damn things to get through, and they'll not do that anytime soon with that sort of rule), but maybe that's restraining folks from flipping them right away.

From what i have seen so far in photo's and pictures. It was almost dead at the show. Hardly anyone.

Eddie Wong: It was rather dead. I'd say no more than 10-15 visitors when I was there (between 2:45pm-4pm).

If it doesn't pick up, they'll never unload the 2000 exclusives.
Perhaps that today and tomorrow will be better days.

YAJ prices are coming down as well, wouldnt be surprised if you could get one for MSRP of 18000, or maybe 19000JPY in a few days...

It's a nice doll to have, but I think there aren't that many MJ fans crazy enough to shell out 250 euro's for a doll.
Definitely not 4000

Those Yahoo prices seem cheaper than what i see on ebay.
unfortunately my Dutch and English are a lot better than my Japanese, and i don't quite trust google translate yet. I might end up talking about their mamma or something

Do you know why they don't do international shipping?
It would give them a wider market (and thus higher prices).

Something to consider is that there's always something lost in translation. I think these will be released through the usual places but is being releases early in Tokyo.

thing is, SSC had the Tokyo show referenced with their Indiana jones post on facebook, had HT and SSC sponsored logos. I'm pretty sure we'll get these and should not fall for the jacked up prices.

The way that they seemed to handle this is really poor no just from our perspective but thiers as well. They were so desperate to keep this exclusive to Japan that they cheated out a large part of thier customer market, who now have to resort to ridiculous scalper prices (anything above $200 really is too much to pay for this figure) only one day after the thing is released.

Not only that, but also becuase of thier one per customer rule they now have a much smaller buying market that they somehow have to unload 4000 of these things to.

If you're not in a hurry to get one I'd wait, as they'll probably be available through HK sellers, or get cheaper on Ebay...

Most sellers offer for a bit under the MSRP and so it seems to me that it's not too unlikely that if does end up being stocked by normal retailers it'll be US $200 or a little under. Even if it does sell out though, I have a hard time imagining the price is going to stay at a constant $400 and upwards. I will make the largely uneducated guess that prices they're asking now are only going to drop, not rise.

They might not want to go through the trouble of shipping internationally. It can be a bother shipping it and even more of a bother if a problem later arises, it can be a headache many like to avoid.
