Not sure, I never looked, just mine seems very restrictive. Watched some YouTube vids and I see its just the way its made.

OK, finally fixed the teeth, meaning closed the mouth.

He does seem a lot more menacing with the closed-mouth grin...

Regarding the tail.

It should be easily snap back into it's socket, but never notice if the rubber skin of the body was fully attached to the skin of the tail.

Very nice W-G. Looks tons better and I never really noticed the upper lip before, don't think I've seen 1 pic which showed it as well as you did.

Anyway, with mouth closed, this displays so much differently because instead of focusing on the head or mouth, I at least, see the Figure as a whole and really appreciate the details of the body, etc. Can't wait to see it w chromed teeth & nails, should really pop.

I think I'm going to glue the mouth on mine shut as well. The mechanism doesn't even work anyway. And the tongue looks like crap...

Ok not to be a pain in the butt and drag things up but I was looking at Tsang's website. There are two version of this figure that he sculpted and wondering why there are two and also why they went with the second one.

Appears to be the production sculpt. The jaw is wide and the mouth much more pronounced.

This version is listed as Version II

This is Version I

I don't know about accurate, but I like this version much more. It seems more menacing.

That's essentially what I felt. If the tongue was easier to use and if the tongue was actually accurate then I would have left it alone, but seeing how I'll never use it, don't want to paint it, and its tough to make it work smoothly, I figured hell-with-it. Looks better closed anyway.

Now if you could see the nasty white tongue behind those parted teeth, then I'd love it. 2 sets of jaws would have looked great and made the open-mouth seem like a better choice.

Different sculpt. That shot is from Version 1. I wonder if he had to re sculpt to get the tongue mechanism to work. Shame. I would have bought this version.

That does look better. I don't think its any more accurate than what came out but it looks cooler. The released figure is stripped of all menace, and doesn't look like any alien from any of the films - but that version 1 at least would have looked kinda like an alien from Alien 4 or AvP.

Version 1 has more of a presence. I dunno why Hot Toys always screws it up when making their mouths. First the Dog Alien, then this. Oh, and let's not forget the AVP-R's squished-up mouth. All of them have issues, so it's about finding the best one. But the latest Aliens they've put out are just not that great in that area. Meh...

Boredom, yes.

Silvered the nails and teeth. Don't have that chroming pen, just used a silver sharpie for now. It really pops on the nails but not as much on the teeth. Gotta get that chrome pen...

Not great light here today.

Not as dirty with the HT blood-wash. Also whitened the gum line ever so slightly. True chrome would really makes this pop.

Lucky. End of this month at the earliest for me and then I might have to immediately pack mr T-800 away to move back to the newly renovated house...sigh...and even then I won't be able to unbox all my stuff because I still won't have shelves. I am sick of the sight of cardboard boxes. They've been in my life so long I can't remember anything else (get the referance!)

In your pics it looks the best when the mouth has that particularly bright light on it. It seems to bring out a more sinister look. You can imagine it emerging from shadow and the first thing that catches the light is the teeth - thats what the figure should have tried to achieve.

Yeah, definitely be nice to have a stand with a little light like the Joker DX that you could spot right on the teeth.

Might be worth getting one of those key-rings with the LED spot and rigging it in some way for display purposes.

Closed mouth does seem to make it easier to appreciate the whole figure, instead of being distracted by his funky mouth.
