That's probably not far from the truth.
I am curious though, as this debate with sabres has my mind interested in other's POVs on this: for those who believe the skull is part of the alien biology, do you believe that the sockets are how the alien sees? Are those his 'eyes'?
I always believed -- again from my reading way back when -- that the whole slimy dome was a sensor type thing, that there was no specific sight mechanism, just a sonar/whatever/sensing area that could 'view' in all directions. And I always thought that was very cool and...alien.
I'm curious what others believe in terms of how the alien 'sees'.
At the risk of being silly, it would be neat if they offered two interchangeable domes of different translucency.
I think the skull is just some useless genetic information the alien acquired from Kane and has no bearing whatsoever on how it perceives the world around it.
As for swapping heads, I'm sure they could come up with some clever way of hiding the join. After all, they managed it for the film!
were mandibles useful on predators? i don't remember them being used for anything except looking cool.Just like the mandibles for the PredAlien are pretty useless.
Not everything achieved in 1:1 scale can be translated into 1:6 and I think that's one case. It's easy to blend seams into the Alien design at full size like a film costume, but with the thickness of materials not being exactly 1:6 and all, it becomes more challenging on figures. Same for a lot of situations with clothes and all. While patterns are scaled to 1:6 the original, most times, it's hard to get a fabric that's much less than the exact same thickness of the 1:1, so it's not a perfect look.
sigh....... at least the base looks good. too bad THE FIGURE STILL LOOKS LIKE CRAP! lol doesnt seem like any improvement has been made at all.
Yea, man that figure looks like crap. . .
