Loving the pose-ability!
This one will look great along with its brethren.

Yes I am relieved that there is articulation for those certain poses. But to be honest folks. If HT is reading this board and/or their blog. Does anyone truly believe there will be a DX version w/the improved face/jaw :lecture in the near future

With all due respect I understand the Batman/TDK line is very popular (I like it :D). But I doubt it that HT will do another version of our favorite "The Big Chap."

Don't mean to be negative. But we have been fortunate to get 3 different scaled versions of the alien.

Cool pose... but I have a feeling the material will not allow for that to be held for long. Guessing it will stretch out or eventually break down from that much stress.

Loving some of those poses, HT ALIENS have always been about the articulation, and this last batch of pics has eased my mind a little!

Wow, I'm actually a little shocked by that. It's not as if these would have been hard to sculpt from scratch. But in some sense I guess it's similar to the way that movie model makers use parts from existing model kits to make new things. Just look at the Millennium Falcon.

Yeah, pretty much every special effects house... even average Joe model makers canibalise off the shelf kits for this kind of stuff. I'm more impressed (for that read 'geeked out') when people recognise the bits!

Can someone tell what that other black alien Is that is faceing our big chap coming out soon. That picture is awsome.!!!

What bothers me most about cannibalizing model kits for parts is the fact that Empire Strikes Back came out a year after Alien so every time I look at the base I'll be thinking about how the Alien came out before it. Man, Hot Toys really took the easy way out on this one in every way. I'll stick with my McFarlane and Neca. Canceled. :banghead

You're canceling because of some obscure reused design parts that only 1 person in 100,000 would ever be able to spot??? These aren't exactly placed in locations essential to this figure and I'm sure will be hardly noticeable.

It's not like they used the AT-AT piece as part of the Alien leg...

Back to the pics, those crouching photos look absolutely FANTASTIC. So cool.

Nope. It was the last straw for me. I was already disappointed with all of the innacuracies of the Alien's design and was debating whether or not to cancel. Seeing this was the deal breaker for me. Like Pjam said, a DX version is the only thing that could redeem this and I'll hold out for that one if they ever make it. I got into 1/6 collecting because of Terminator and Aliens and Hot Toys really dropped the ball on this license.

Yep, the Marmit is the best I've seen, dome wise. Why couldn't HT simply use that as a Sculpt template?

I guess they may for the V2 if they do one and they NEED to do one to redeem themselves IMO.

But the HT V1 = HT Joker V1 to me. It needs a serious Makeover.

General Veers prepare your men.

I actually love the clever kit-bashing on the base. Done in the best traditions of everybody in teh visual effects and model making industry.

Where do you think all the detail on the Millenium Falcon comes from? :lol

Well it's fair enough, there's no point in paying out to have a figure on your shelf that pains you every time you look at it. Know the feeling.

I remember the Elder Pred's mask from AVP - the sculpture used in the film a lot of the little details on the cheek areas on that was bashed from car model kits and what not...I know there are plenty of other examples just geeked out I actually know of one...:lol
