Here's a good "size comparison" shot from one of the guys at the Statue Forum...

Pity the Predator isn't closer to the Alien's height. The shortcomings of the Alien have made us forget that that figure too had certain controversies. Cool figure though it is, and mostly otherwise sufficiently accurate, the smaller size really bothered me back then. Oh well.

im out of the loop on the discussion but i can kind of see what the sentiment is around here. what I'm wondering is whether or not you guys think HT has 'gotten the message' regarding the Big Chap. There was all that blowback for the V1 Joker and John Connor and HT acknowledged this. Is there any word from HT apart from their boasting? whats the feedback and sales like in China?

Connor's a different situation than the Joker. Sloppy paint apps were done and before mass shipments went out, they were called on it and it was reasonable for them to fix, odds are, if everything had shipped out and it wasn't for some time that they heard about dissatisfaction, we'd have not seen something done. Joker's a cash cow, I think TDK probably sells to a larger overall audience than Aliens so it's in there interest to keep releasing.

HT acknowledged hearing us, some minor corrections were made on the figure, if they cared enough to really overhaul it, they would have done that instead of small fixes. I'd be VERY surprised if they release a newly sculpted Big Chap, they might do some goofy paint variant like Aliens, but I dont' see a brand new and better figure coming.

Here's something I don't think the guy that posted these pics has noticed yet.

But, the mouth tendon on his is about to snap...

EDIT: never owned an alien, any other models have as much of a large jaw opening mechanism? anyone ever had problems with that snapping? thats some poor QC there, but from what I've heard about all the other aliens it seems that its the norm.

yeah for sure, I don't expect a new Chap, I was just hoping HT at least knows they screwed up, it would give me some solace. I'm sad about this figure because of how amazing everything besides the face is. I'm almost considering buying it and customizing it myself because I don't know when we'll get the definitive big chap. plenty of statues out there but i want something i can pose, something that i can give some life to.

i remember those corrections though, and they were going in the right direction but just didnt bother to go that slight extra half-mile or so and get it right. really disappointing. sorry to add to the echo chamber, im peacing out of this thread. :(

I do wish HT sacrificed a little accurracy to make the tendons thicker, these figures look cool with the inner jaw out but I never feel comfortable leaving it that way for long, either that it'll snap or it'll stretch out and when you close the mouth it'll be flopping around on the sides of the mouth and look goofy.

i wish ht would sacrifice stupid cheap toy action features and sculpt it right.

I'd agree if I thought the feature had anything to do with innaccurracy, but as clever as HT is, I'm sure they could figure a way to make the feature work and still have it look right.

I think the lever action if a great idea. I love not having to switch out jaws. There always falling out and loose. I always wished for a lever action predator to open and close the mandibles. That's me. I know collectors don't agree.
