I've had mine out of the box for a week and I'm noticing moistness on the harness. I'm torqued because at the time I bought it I was trying to make up my mind between this and Whiplash.
Has anyone come up with anything that will slow or stall decay at this point?

i just purchased a dc direct 13" comedian from amazon for $25 shipped. seb (elvis1976) made an awesome comedian with this outfit and harness and it looked great! might have to modify but im up for it. even had the smiley face so yeah mine is leaking too. even the elbow pads. damn hot toys

That body is HUGE by comparison. Expect to make a substantial amount of changes or invest in an unrealistic T-800 body.

I guess my next questiom is, if anyone knows, is the problem just that area or are we looking at the complete disintegration of the entire suit over time? If an ugly patch was possible I'd do that and call it battle damage.
I got an email from HT and it was the same canned response others received. I'm worried because I own nine other HT figures besides the Comedian and I have three on preorder.

I have Iron Man Marks I,II,III,IV,VI, War Machine, Black Widow, Silk Spectre, and the Alien "Big Chap". The Alien seems fine, but I've been looking to sell it to fund the purchase of the Sam Flynn Light Cycle. On preorder I have Thor, Iron Man Mark V, and Kevin Flynn.

The IM figures haven't leaked yet that we know of. My MKIII is fine. The areas to check would be the abs, elbows and backs of the knees. I canceled my Thor because of this. I'll pick one up down the road at a higher price if this isn't an issue, but I don't want to buy another figure that leaks. Especially not at HT's prices. Thor's status will effect whether or not I pick up '89 Bats. And that'll cost them sales for the Joker as well. No Keaton, no need for Nicholson.

I saw those pics and asked even seb about it.
He advised me not to try.
But the thing is that i don't thinkg he put it on a comedian muscular body (check the neck).
Maybe with some recuting of the dcd suit to make smaller it could work.
So i wanted to see if it could look ok on the body without the harness on.
Just checking this option coz i think i will probably go with a recast of the Comedian suit.

I wrote HT back to ask them if they have at least fixed this problem so that it won't happen again. I've had my eye on the light cycle but now I'm worried. If they did an Avengers Hulk or a Tron Clu or Quorra I'd be hesitant.

I wrote www.cooltoyreview.com, www.mwctoys.com and www.figures.com and sent a link to the blog that olbertfrog set up. I figure www.mwctoys.com ought to run something because they posted rave reviews for this figure.

ahh ok. well if theres going to be a recast ill probably go that route. in the meantime ill mess with the dc direct one and let you guys know how it turned out.

I have a DCD on order too. Always wnated to get one for the guns, but never thought they were worth it. Guess now they are. I just bought the whole set incl. Manhattan, Rorschach and Comedian for a bargain on the bay + I got the last Slim body from a local shop for 50 ( :yes: ), so I will go the full way, build up a custom Rorschach, Manhattan and fix my Comedian.

I was thinking about using a Leonidas body for Manhattan... What do you guys think? I wouldnt go with the naked route but just give him is string similar to the DCD original...

Wanted to know if all the hottoys figure have oil in some parts of the body or is it with specific figures only? I own Mk IV, VI, and War Machine and thought they did not have oil in them. It'll be painful to see one of them getting 'leaked!'
