Did I write to screw people? Fact is Batman DX is worth more now than in retail, despite its issues. Comedian is parted out more worth than in retail even without the damaged rubber suit. Put it on ebay, name its issues and you will most likely still make profit, at least get what you have paid for.
Seriously man, please stop interpretating such a dump in my posts. I am no Howes. :duff

I'll try as soon as I figure out what that means. :lecture:lecture:lecture :exactly:

But from what we've seen of the DX Batmans, how many people are actually being honest? That thread seems like it's bumped monthly by some poor Freak who was lied to by a douchy seller.

Seb, recast?

Let it be. Chances are very high it is leaking as I dont remember anyone who has checked it and did find nothing. :lol

Update on replacement cast: the back is already too deformed to get a proper cast of it. The front wont be a problem but doesnt make any sense without the back. If I ever find a spare rubber suit, replacemtns wont be a problem, but obviously its hard to find one in good shape. :lol
Looks as I will go with DCD for replacement. :dunno

I'm waiting on my replacement, yep i like so much that i decided to not get a refund.
I will likely receive a non deformed one.
I can have it sent to you.
Let me know

AGAIN GUYS SEND PICS TO HOT TOYS!!!

So hard to ignore two letters? If you prefer, we can continue this conversation in German. Further I believe I have seen poorer english here. Be a little creative. :wink1:

Might be the case that there are many Chris Howes guys out there but you should not point randomly at people. Also if you highlight in quotes you tend to interpret :)wink1:) the text a little and take it out of its original context...
Anyway, I believe this does not lead to anything but animosity between us so lets rest it here. I have seriously no interest in such a debate. :1-1:

Sounds like a plan. If you are willing to do so, I would be glad to make a replacement. Best would be to discuss the details via PM.

Good choice to keep him. Despite leaking its still a great figure.

My point is that encouraging people to buy and sell if they don't like, doesn't address the issue. Moreso, it encourages douchy behavior, the likes of which we've already seen (and I suspect we'll see now with Comedian as well and likely Thor in a few months). So in the end, with HT encouraged to not address the issue by continual sales, and collectors snubbed, 1st, 2nd and 3rd hand, nobody really wins. :huh

You have a point there. On the other hand people are now aware of this issue. Who knows, maybe Comedian did leak from day 1 but noone realised because its mostly the back and if they did, they might not have cared because they did not realize its consequences. I will inspect each and every rubber suit I get in future very close and if I see it leaking, directly report to customer service before the 1 year guarantee has ended.
If I understand it correct, Comedian is older than DX Bats, yet people have realised that its leaking far after DX Bats. I doubt this (a rubber suit leaking over a year without anybody recognizing) will happen again, and I really dont believe Hot Toys wants to have a 2nd DX Batman replacement debacle.
I have read somewhere Perseus is leaking too. Might be the case that noone realises because most of the figures being parted out?

To be fair, Batman was leaking in a far more conspicuous place than Comedian, and with the main focus on Batman, especially given his popularity and larger release/edition size, more had him in hand.

Just checked my suit and harness, no leaking so far. However, I have all the parts loose and stashed away, they aren't on the figure anymore.
I bought my set without the body from Snake Eater last year, don't know how he displayed it, if at all. I had it displayed on a body I bought myself for a couple of months, but took it off again about 1-2 months ago.

Good to know. Is the true reason known than? Is it just the aging?

Somewhere in the thread there was discussion about how the suit was made and it boiled down to the symptoms matching a lack of proper curing time which given the process, has to be exact. The timeframe was pretty much completely varied, with some figures leaking right out of the box (mine did) and others taking months to show symptoms. I'm tired of paying $200 a pop on average for HT to figure it out. :lol

Some quick shots:

How would that fix it? Removing it's only going to take away materials needed to hold it together and cause it to dry out faster (not a good thing). :dunno

So you're saying the oils actually keep the moisture in or are the things to keep it from rotting? I admit I never got to caught up in the batman problem because I got a late DCD version so I really don't know all too much. My batman had the mildest forms of the problem I heard of thankfully.

Looks like comedian was not so lucky.

Given that the rig/ holster is oily in some paces that the suit is not underneath I wonder if that's what's actually causing the problem and not the suit itself?
