I'm sticking mine in the fing freezer.... Thank god they didn't make night owl he'd be leaking out his ass!!!!!

I feel bad for Hot Toys. They are leading the market with awesome figures and earning tons of money, but they probably hired a lousy company to do the rubber accessories. Hot Toys should work with Bridgestone if they want to keep a good reputation.

Sadly this is the price you pay for innovative figures. Can't say I'm happy about QC issues like this, but when you do things have haven't been done before in 1/6 you are bound to have some things backfire.

My plan at this point is to just not fiddle with it for the time being. My hope is that being in an arid high altitude climate, like eastern Idaho, will at least keep the thing from cooking and progressing too rapidly. Hopefully it will last long enough until a recast part sees circulation or Hot Toys finds a way to replace it. If it falls apart and no fix is in sight I will part it out. It sounds like all of his weaponry alone would get someone more than halfway to recouping costs. My hope for anyone who has this problem is to let HT know about their situation. Even if they don't totally fix it they should supply people with information and let them know what is being done to prevent this. I would think most people would hold on to their preorders if HT could assure them there would be no future problems.

:cuckoo::cuckoo::cuckoo: I have absolutely no sympathy for a company that charges what they do, make defective products like this, force customers to terrorize them publicly to even get a response, then force them to jump through hoops to get only a small handful of replacements or downright refuse to replace their defective items. :cuckoo:

Kinggrayskull,

This was to launch officially the project.
And raise interest.

You never said you were taking the project in your own hand.
I tought it was a friend of yours a dentist wo would do the work.
And you were not sure you could pull it off.

If you DO take the project OFFICIALY just say so here
Simple as that.

BUT if you're doing this on a private level on you side and want if it's done you can offer it to fellow members.
Meanwhile I'll be still doing my own project here.

If you read correctly Erick says he can't make it.

BTW The picture is for info only.
Not the suit that would be delivered to the sculptor.

Just send you my answer via PM. Anybody who is doing this should do it not publically. ;)

I had some ideas while working on this over the day I would like to share with you:

I would not go with a complete recast but seperate the suit in two pieces: the upper part and the lower part. Doing it in two seperate pieces would allow at least a little movement. I have taken your pic and edited to show what I would have done. This way he would be naked around the belly which is hidden by the belt of the harnish, so not noticeable. Also this would allow to just cut the original upper suit away and just replace the leaking upper part and keep the intact original lower rubber part.
I hope this was understandable... Let me know if I am unclear. :)

The upper suit would be similar to the Masters of the Universe Classics armor for anyone who knows the line.

EDIT:

Simple as that.

I would never take over a project to recast an existing item OFFICIALLY... :lol

Mate you are not clear in your mind or don't read english properly.
Just do you thing. I'll do mine.
Thank you.

Fixed.

yep i used the wrong terms.
We are looking a replacement armor.
Just like when i lauched the ED 209 replacement dome project.
My bad.

It's cool you can continue ;)

I posted over there. My figure's suit isn't broken but it is leaking so having a replacement when the time comes would make me feel a lot better.

Ok guys I may have found a solution to fix it, if leakage is on the back of shoulders. If your figure is starting to leak like mine n rubber has started to lose shape: first blowdry the affected areas soften the rubber till you can put index finger between body n rubber armor and dry off the area on the inside. Next put entire figure in freezer this will allow armor to go back to original shape for about 20 to 30 minutes.Last thing is to apply armor all, not alot to a soft cloth and apply to areas that had the leakage it acts as a sealant, and also removes what ever the hell that oil was and voila figure is back to normal. Now I dont feel as screwed without having to purchase another alternative.

I dont know if anyone can answer me..The harness attach on the grenade launcher detach so easely..i just move the figure and the harness detach i wonder if all the grenade launcher are the same?Or mine might just be broken..Once again sorry about my bad english:dunno

This has to be the worst advice I've read since the issue with Batman started...

DO NOT PUT ARMOR ALL
ON YOUR FIGURES!!!

The simplest bit of internet research shows you that it eventually breaks down both dash boards and car tires. Why the hell would you put it on an action figure?! :duh:duh:duh

Thanks nam. So its just figures with rubber on the costumes?

its weird i recently sold my Mark 2 IM and mars attacks soldier, had my Comedian ready to list, but decided on keeping him, now i'm scared to check.

Have there been any leaking issues with the MMS Dark Knight?
