mine is leaking on the back also so mad about this we need to send hot toys a mass e-mail and maybe then can fix this they can't ignore u all.

So you're saying the oils actually keep the moisture in or are the things to keep it from rotting? I admit I never got to caught up in the batman problem because I got a late DCD version so I really don't know all too much. My batman had the mildest forms of the problem I heard of thankfully.

Looks like comedian was not so lucky.

Given that the rig/ holster is oily in some paces that the suit is not underneath I wonder if that's what's actually causing the problem and not the suit itself?

No, the components combined to make the rubber are separating. So in a very real sense, it's bleeding to death.

I'm hoping because I live in a place that seems to snow 9 months of the year and is severely dry, the progression of the leakage is at least slow. Mine is in a Detolf in an office I have set up in our basement and from some defect in our gas furnace it is the most frigid room in the house.
At this point I'd like to get some information from HT, as far as they take it seriously enough that it won't happen again with other figures. At this point I'm not real worried about the other figures I have. I have had the "Big Chap" for much longer and nothing is wrong with it. But I would sure hate to see this happen again. I'm hoping everyone who has a problem lets HT know.

I'm a little devastated today not gonna lie. What the hell guys did we really not notice this until now?

So thenamagazine, you're basically saying the internal oils are bleeding out of the rubber, separating and once it's gone the rubber will dry itself out and crack?

But didn't it wind up that the bat mans eventually stopped leaking in some cases?.. Like they had to go through a phase?

D A M M I T! Just checked mine and Sho' Nuff! I never noticed this because he has been at the back of a Detolf for less than a year now. I got this guy second hand. Whats this about using the DCD version? Hmmm. What to do.

Yes and no. As far as the abs go for the DX, if the abs are leaking, they won't stop. Every Tom, Richard and Harry quick fix has only resulted in the residue leaking from the sides, or leaking backwards, into the figure. The symptoms will just appear somewhere else on the figure or start leaking inside, between the body and suit. Vodoun was able to stop signs of leaking on the biceps but the verdict's still out on the longevity of that fix. Comedian just seems bad all the way around given where and how he's leaking. I absolutely despise recasting, but if that's the only way to fix this figure IMHO, especially given HT's washed their hands of him rather than own up to it, it's highly warranted.

You will likely receive a negative answer saying that they don't have replacement but it will make them notice that you are aware of the problem and that you will avoid rubber suit figures in the future. It might not help us now but maybe in the future.

So from all the info i gather, it seem that the suit i leaking only in the back.
Wonder if we asked some chemist if he would have a solution to this.
Just wondering.

Ok another problem on mine.

THe elbow pad cracked.
THey litteraly split in two and the arms weren't displayed in any dynamic pause.

SO now my elbow pads are screwed too.

Sorry to hear about the extent of this problem you guys are having - obviously happy that I never got sucked into this line...

One more reason HT should have done Rorschach instead.

Those pads sucks! Mine had the metalic part unglued.
And i've heard about not keeping them in dynamic poses.
But now they break even in reloaxed poses! Just great!
If the metalic part is not damaged i'm sure Seb will find a way to replace them.
Maybe with real leather as they were supposed to be.

I love Rorschach but i'm really happy they mpade the Comedian.
I would have been happier if they made him right ^^

I wouldn't be so fast to dismiss the idea that the harness has something to do with the decomposing of the rubber. The mixture of the rubber most likely has something so do with it I agree, but wouldn't it be a big coincidence if this only happended mostly in the areas covered up by the harness? All the pics I've seen so far and reports I've read had the bleeding around the shoulder area, which is covered by the harness. Perhaps it has to "breathe", but can't because it's covered up? Does anybody have signs of bleeding on the stomach, above the belt? Or has anybody taken off the belt and checked if it's bleeding under there, too?

Like I said, it's possible that the harness has nothing to do with it, but I'd look into it more rather than just assuming it. More pics from other members would help, of course.

Yeah, I think if we got a replacement in the works it would take the sting off. If HT still had the mold, I'm not sure how expensive it would be to crank out 100 or so for the people that need one.
As annoyed and frustrated as I am about it, last night,I told myself that the oil is showing up where it is to depict him being sweaty and gross after conducting black ops for Nixon and treating women like crap.

Just took my figure apart to properly inspect it and the shoulder bits on the costume fell apart, so i am now in need of a replacment.

Mine had oil all over the back and one of the shoulder straps cracked nearly in half. Pretty f'd up when a figure has this many issues after such a short period of time.

Upside is by parting out I came out just a bit ahead of what I paid for the full figure even though the body suit was a total loss.
