i can't believe people are canceling this in favor of the mechanic. both are great and essential in my book.

Personally I like this "workshop" Tony better than the "Mechanic", but mainly due to the HoA setup. My main problem with this figure is the fact that it won't look nearly as nice if you don't have it set up with some sort of fake flooring (maybe some thin black rubber?) and at least a picture of the Hall of Armor behind him.

To set this up on a desk or in a Detolf with nothing else, it won't look nearly as nice IMO.

Of course, there is also the issue of "battle damaged" Tony versus "not damaged" Tony....

Thanks Cofphoto. I am getting this figure and have a set up idea, but your post about a picture of the HOA behind him is great. I didn't order the HOA sets because I like my IM figures in action poses. This idea solves that issue..

people talking here that they like the mechanic better and seeing it pop in and out of stock at BBTS tells me people are canceling their preorders while others are jumping to replace them.

Wow thats carzy, Tony the Mechanic is good but not THAT good, I still prefer this version

But I know the Mechanic version is a MUST anyway

I agree, I think there are more display options with this. The Mechanic version was only in one section of the movie while this Stark was there throughout.

Really? I'm actually gonna sell pretty much all my accessories XD except for the base, but it all really depends if I can fit it on my shelf, but I will for sure sell the extra arms and such.

IMO if they can include an interrogation room diorama with Joker 2.0, they should include a HoA diorama with this piece.

But that would probably hurt sales of the ridiculously priced Hot Toys HoA pieces.

No, but the display badasness of this one is sort of related to all his accecoiries imo. The figure itself isn't THAT special.

i loved IM3. love the rolling table with the M42 spare parts and light up stand, jarvis accessory, and great tony head sculpt. i'm buying both this and the mechanic and have canceled my HOA displays. i might get a couple down the road even though i do have all the marks.

I'm still really excited about this set, especially since I was able to use that Avengers code back when and got $70 off. I'm thinking I will end up selling the Robot and then picking up the mechanic HS and a few accessories. That along with mk42 will be a great representation of IM3.
Hopefully we see this showing up in Asia soon. Only one flexpay left!
