Do you have a "How to" thread somewhere on this site with how to do this? I have a few questions as to how you got the stands to attach to the styrene, so I thought if you had a thread, it might answer my questions.

I made a rough one today at work just to show my method.
As i was wanting a MOS one, i chose that shape, but it would work for any shaped base.
Make the base, mark the hole to be cut, drill a couple of holes, then dremel 90% away, and chisel to refine the shape.
When the peg fits, paint your base.

Outstanding!! Just to clarify, styrene is pretty much the same stuff you can mat photos with? The somewhat harder foam stuff?

No. Styrene is like sheet plastic. You are thinking of polystyrene.
It's basically like sheets of paper, in different levels of thickness, and is the same stuff plastic model kits are made of(So it can be glued with the same glues).
Any local model store will sell it or(Of you want to cut out the middle man), go right to a wholesale supplier(Usually they will be glad of even small orders). https://www.midlandplastics.com/about_us.htm
Another avenue is to see if you have a vacform company locally. Usually they order high volume and will be glad to order a few sheets for you. Or sell you some of their own stock.
You can buy a sheet the size of a door for $10 that will probably last you forever.

Hello all, is SSC behind on releasing this figure? It still is on pre-order but I see a lot of reviews being posted that are not from China? Thanks.

SS is not behind. Those of us who pre-ordered it from them received a shipping soon notice stating that the figure was scheduled to enter their warehouse around December 2nd which is when we'll be charged. If you've seen a review from someone that is not in HK, they probably still got their figure from HK, most likely through eBay. Most if not all US retailers get their stock from SS so US retailer won't have it until they get their stock from SS. Not sure how familiar you are with time release between HK and the US, but usually (however not always) SS will get their stock in about a month after the HK release...hope that helps

Thanks! I wanted to pre-order him but I can't use the coupon for black Friday :( Would it be risky to wait till he in shipping status?

I don't think it would risky at all. Not many seem to jumping over this figure like say an Iron Man figure so you have time

You may also know it as 'Plasticard' as that is what it was known as in my wonderful local modelling shop, that sadly closed a while back!! It really is useful material as you can use it for more-or-less anything model orientated.

I once scratchbuilt a "Blake's 7" season 4 silver hand gun + holster out of it.

If you pick up some sheet styrene, you can make one in a few layers.
I did that in a few different sizes:

Do you have any idea where to buy the clear flying stand poles for bases? If Hot Toys makes a real thing of the weird stand we will get with Jor El I forsee myself completely ignoring Hot Toys bases from now on...

Why didn't I think of that before?
Both my Black suit Spidey and original Supes, due to the height I put them on their poles cause the poles to bend.
I'll pick up the bar from the workshops on Monday and cut to length. Simple solution. Never thought of it! Cheers.

No worries. I use alu tubing which is very sturdy, but obviously not as see through, lol.

Body is hybrid. Barney Ross body(I think) with regular TT arms. Thighs have muscle additions. Boots can't be used on another fig, but the shin can be removed and placed on any other TT

just got a pair of jor el boots in hand ,and the good news is they fit just like regular hot toys boots :hi5:,and they fit just fine on a hot toys foot peg ,mine came with no pegs ,push on ,pull off ,no need for jor els calves , so will be aok for zod customs down the line ,not made of fabric but a rubbery vinyl type of stuff ,very nice and have a better range of ankle articulation than the reeve boots

I had two on order. One for me and one for my Brother.
I cancelled mine yesterday. I still kept the one for my Brother, but i am no longer feeling the love for the Jor El figure since it came out with a suntan and shiny head, lol.
If i ever need one to take pics of, i am sure i can borrow my Brother's one.
