I welcome'd Thor back into the collection today

I am back to considering picking this guy up, looks great.

I had thought a while ago about putting together my Avengers line up made mainly out of non Avenger versions of the character; A1 Banner / Hulk with Stealth Cap, TWS Widow, AoU Hawkeye, the Mark 33 (partly because I already have him) and TDW Thor. Only problem is I have seen TWS Widow up close and didn't like her, I prefer the AOU Cap (main thing which bugs me is the frayable sleeve cuffs... would still love to put him alongside Silver Centurion though) and I have already ordered the 43.

i did see Armored Thor along with TDW Loki in Forbidden Planet a couple of weeks ago and they both looked amazing and apart from Iron Man (which I have too many of already when considering preorders too) I really need to not double up on characters unless they are vastly different.

why not use Avengers Widow instead

Depends on how she turns out (this is assuming you mean Avengers 2 and not Avengers 1?), I really didn't like her head sculpt on the WS version but the paint job on the new prototype looks much better. If you meant the first Avengers then thats an idea, if not then there is likely to be a Civil War version not too far behind but right now I am planning on only potentially getting Cap and IM from that line.

For me unless they dramatically change the head sculpt from the DW version and I prefer that one I still think I prefer the armored version, the colour of the discs doesn't bother me.

How did you fit the helmet though? Mod the helmet itself? As well as the hair?

Yeah Tony how did you get the helmet? That has always been another sticking point for me with the MCU Thor. He never wears the helmet.
