That's because the same people keep posting over and over again (myself included). Clown Prince and RaBu alone have gone post crazy!

Well, about half of those are a debate over the merits of the films and Ledger's role in them, but. . .yeah, the Nolan Bat-films are still really influential, and collectibles from them still sell.

The sad thing is, at some point the TDK trilogy will be forgotten, just like the 89 batman has been forgotten by the mainstream. I think once the Batfleck movie comes out, that will be the beginning of the end for TDK films.

i highly doubt it.

I'm serious. The 89 Batman was a phenomenon! It was the biggest thing ever!! But WB made new films and those became the "IT" movies and the merchandise for those new films was their focus. Batman the character is bigger than any specific or particular interpretation and because of that, the new and latest interpretation will be the "IT" and "best" franchise, IMO. That's the way it is. In the 60's Batman the tv show was HUGE, by the 80's it was in the past and it was all about Keaton and Nicholson and the Burton films.

That happens with all films, though. Time marches on and they gradually sort of fade into memory or become less popular. I wouldn't say they're forgotten, though. Heck, I saw a couple stories a couple weeks ago about Batman 89 and it's 25'th anniversary. And let's not forget back when TDK was being made there was plenty of mainstream talk about Ledger taking on the Joker and the daunting challenge he had following Nicholson. Really any time a new movie is made the comparisons are going to be made with what came before so it's hard for these things to ever really be forgotten.

It was, but the sequels that followed really hurt it over the years. Nolan's TDK trilogy is right behind original Star Wars as one of greatest movie trilogies ever. And its not very often that a trilogy that gets made is at Star Wars level globally. But thats my opinion, only time will tell....ill see you in 10 years and see where the trilogy is at :lol

I always thought Star Wars was overrated. Return Of the Jedi sucked, imo. Anyway, Star Wars didn't really go away...but that has to do with the toys and the merchandise. That's what kept Star Wars alive. Also, the SW characters never changed and those are the only interpretation of those characters. Batman, the DC and Marvel characters will always be popular, but there will be new interpretations, remakes, reboots and the merchandise available will be mainly for those latest movies, and what's going to keep the Nolan trilogy alive? Look at Lord of the Ring, it was a huge trilogy, "better" than Star Wars...at least critically with the last film winning 11 Oscars, but they went away... There's only one Han Solo or one Darth Vader, but you can't say that about Batman and the Joker, which is not a bad thing :)

LOTR was amazing but it's not Star Wars. Nothing is. Harry Potter might be up there although not a trilogy. SW has the merch which puts it on another planet, but TDK, LOTR, Indiana jones, all will be loved for a long long time. You might not hear about it as much, but TDK when asked by people what's their favorite comic book movie most will probably mention TDK for many years to come. I highly doubt BvS is going to be at that level. Mainly because there's a lot of internet angst for it already, going to be hard to please a lot of people. I hope it proves them wrong because IMO how can you judge something that hasn't been made. But people do.

probably should end this discussion before the Freak police come get us.:lol U can PM me if you like to discuss further.

Well, Batman Begins will be 10 years old next year. We'll see if WB or the mainstream media or toy/ collectible companies do anything to celebrate the 10th anniversary. I doubt it...and that's when you'll know that it's the beginning of the end :lol Although, the internet might keep it alive...I forgot about the internet. Also when it comes to SW, there's only one. With Batman the fan base is split, some people love the 89 batman and other's the TDK, but as more films come out, the batman fans will have different favorites and there's no unity...if that makes any sense.
