That's a pretty bad shot of the original, but it does look like they massaged that seam a bit. Having said that, the prototype Hong repainted before had a nice hairline, too, and really seems to be the basis for what they're doing here:

I had been debating whether or not to pick up bank robber joker for a while now. Guess this means I am getting this

I've been underwhelmed with the last 3 Dark Knight announcements. The armory, the Bat, and the Joker.

I'm underwhelmed but I was on the hunt for one of these a few years ago and came up with nothing, and a part of me is so starved for a new collectible this year. Still, I'm just not excited about it. Wasn't that headsculpt just made to let people upgrade their MMS? It doesn't fit with the bank robber costume. It should have been a new sculpt based off an expression he makes after removing the mask, not this dead serious look.

If they just want to reuse sculpts for their exclusives, then redo Gordon in his commissioner clothes. I'd buy that. I got rid of my Lt. Gordon because I grew tired of seeing a secondary character in an alt. costume on my shelf.

Bahh. Will wait for the next thing to catch my interest.

EDIT: I wouldn't mind getting just the headsculpt for a more serious expression option on my DX11.

Like soke missed the original release so I'm kinda pleased at this. It's a shame the mask isn't a separate piece. All I have to do now is wait on the price [emoji27]

Since I don't have a Joker at all, this would have been a definite buy for me if they at least included his purple outfit with the set...but now I have to factor in the cost of this figure plus the cost of buying an outfit online, and even a knockoff outfit will run me about $70...decisions, decisions...

I had sold my original BRJ (which btw, was my first 1/6 purchase ) when I downsized my collection to 1 figure per character a while back, so this would have had to be pretty special to get my money....and, as it turns out, Hot Toys has made this incredibly easy to pass on. No new sculpt, no accessories of interest, and a huge, boring stand. Glad for those that missed this guy years back, but disappointed they took the easy road rather than putting out something new.

Missed out on the original so this is will be bought either way.

They should have not included the first sculpt and brought a new one for his stranger line. Don't mind the sculpted mask since that's how the figure will be displayed with anyways. All the TF exclusives are lazy this year and most of the previous year so not really surprised.

Wonder what they'll price this at.

It doesn't really look that upgraded from the first one to me, actually. He's got a purple string and a head with non-removable mask, but I personally think the slicked back hair and option to hold the mask of the version 1 is better, personally.

I'd agree with that... and really him holding the mask was such an iconic image it sucks they'd release a new version that couldn't do that.

I had a feeling they were going to pull this new paint job nonsense. Cheap ****ers. I might pick up the suit on TA when they part it out, but other than that I see no real reason for buying this. Or releasing it for that matter.

Seriously. It's an effing SCHOOL BUS. I was trying to tow the fine line between the folks who supported this release and those criticizing it yesterday. I kept telling myself, "Maybe the upgrades will be worth the seemingly wasted release slot for the TF Exclusive."

The full reveal happens today and I'm legit PISSED.

For those of you who missed out on the first one - I hope you get your hands on this guy and enjoy him. Overall he's a great figure. The original is my favorite in my collection,

With that said - even the original, released six years ago, is better than this one! Paint apps and purple thread hanging out of the coat aside - the original offers a more complete interpretation of the Prologue scene from TDK.

That would solve the 'iconic' pose problem.

Seems this is more for the newcomers than the longtimers. Not enough upgraded to even consider. Repaint is comparable to the other half-dozen Joker sculpts they've released. Shotgun I already have. Cardboard backdrop. Irrelevant purple fabric. Everything else looks identical ... except the attached mask and missing headsculpt.

I'd've rather had a Lone Ranger.
