If you are convinced that you do have the sculpt on the left, then post a picture of it. If so, it is a one of a kind.

Whoa!!..Just checking so the one on the left is NOT the one you guys have????...
So you all received the NEW one on the right?...
So on your boxes the pictures you guys have is the one on the left but inside the box you have the NEW one?... as in the figure wouldn't match the photo on the box?...is that right?.

I'm only saying this because I WANT the one on the right as it looks WAY better than the one I have. But the head sculpt of him is Australian $160ish dollars from Hong Kong... a bit rich but probable the way I will have to go.

@Kuat of Kuat, Hi there. So they supplied a different sculpt than they pictured on the front of your box?. IE product does not match the advertising there?... and you got the one on the right. So according to pretty much every box picture I have seen on Ebay etc the sculpt is not the one of the figure they supply in the box?. And people get the one on the right...

All I know is my sculpt will in no way at all at any angle look like a good sculpt of Harrison Ford except maybe from side on. The new one does look great and I'm glad for you if you have it as it actually resembles him.

Also buddy, why would you ask if I hadn't opened the box yet?... what the hell man?

I might not know much about this... is this right?

The left is the prototype. That is pictured on the box and you will not receive that sculpt.

The right one is a hand painted proto by JC Hong. You can not buy that particular hand painted sculpt... because it is hand painted by JC Hong. A production run of that sculpt is what came with the Han, but it is not going to look as good as JCs.

I have no idea if this is right, but it would be about 10000x easier if you just posted a pic and we could tell you what you got.

@Kuat of Kuat
The whole point of my questioning here revolves around what was in the box compared to what I have seen around. The box you pictured is the one I have (except mine isn't the special edition). And the figure I have is basically like what is on the box.
This might straighten it out a little.....

The one I saw on Ebay is this one
1 6 Hot Toys Han Solo Star Wars A New Hope MMS261 Head Sculpt Hair | eBay

To me this looks like the NEW one that I want. I am not sure however if this is now the standard from what everyone is saying or not. Maybe this is totally wrong. It certainly appears to be the JC Hong sculpt... Can anyone confirm this?.

That is the production sculpt and is what should be in your box as it's what is in everyone else's. Open your figure and compare it with the eBay pic, you should find that they are exactly the same head. If not, then, wonder of wonders, you have scored a pre-production piece which is worth a small fortune. If you still want help on here then I suggest you show people what you have and they can decide if it's a production figure, like even I suspect it is, or you got a rarity.

You will never know what you have till you open it

Ok I took a photo of him, what do you think guys?... WP_20151127_20_35_11_Pro.jpg

Yeah looks off to me... not seeing Harrison Ford at all...
Dont you guys think the Ebay one looks better?... to me it does comparing the two I just can't get my Solo to look
like the pic on Ebay at any angle I try. Maybe its the paint job, mine looks way to tanned.

I did grab one of these....

needs to be painted but might turn out ok.

It's the lighting, your head is exactly the same as the one on eBay. With regard to the other head you just bought, you just got a recast of what could be an old Hasbro head from one of the worst recasters on eBay, in short, you just got ripped off! The head will be tiny and won't fit the HT body. If you're not sure about something, ask, but provide all the info you can and you'll get the best answers.

Sorry to have wasted your time guys. I thought there was a better sculpt. My mistake. Lighting makes all the difference and its a shame when the figures cost this much money you have to be a trick photographer to make him look right. I gotta say the reason I came here was to see if there was a better version of the sculpt out there... which I am sure there will be sooner or later. On a side not thanks for making a new poster feel so welcome. Cheers

I've been lighting him very poorly apparently... after throwing a decent led lamp over his head he does look better than I actually thought. Different angles yeah... maybe looks better but under the right light....Holy crap I feel like an idiot now, but I could have sworn that the NEW sculpt was not the one I already had. He just looks so wrong in bad light.

I better THANK you guys for stopping me from spending a heap of money where it would have been wasted. :D

I will step lighter and with more care from now on. :)
Cheers

Phodis. Where did you purchase your figure? Was it at a local shop, eBay, or through an official retailer like Sideshow Collectables? That makes all the difference when it comes to customer service. It may cost a little extra but you get the peace of mind knowing if anything is wrong with the figure they will replace parts or the whole thing if you are not satisfied.

All I can say is make sure you do plenty of research. This is a great source as the 1/6 community is very transparent here and can be a wealth of knowledge for the novice and experienced collector. Sure you may get some smart a$$es but most of the time you will get truthful responses no matter how brutal they may be. Welcome to the clown show my friend and welcome to the boards!
