That side by side shot has better lighting than the other pics. It shows the youthfulness and I think it's a DAMN good representation of ANH Han. No sculpt is 100% bang on. The best of the best are only about 90% perfect, and I'd put that somewhere in the 80%'s. Inigou did a good sculpt but I agree it looks like an older Han.

I was never a big hater of the HT sculpt. It's clearly off mark but I felt it was passable. This side by side really shows how off mark it is though.

It's actually a better scale. :lecture KakaoTalk_20160616_211905562.jpg

wow that custom sculpt is fantastic. Here i was in love with the original HT.
makes the old sculpt look like John Ritter.

...the one on the right gives off a younger Ford vibe.

The fatter one on the left has more of an older Ford about it.

But in that photo above it looks like someone else. Seems so familiar. A British actor from the seventies and early eighties.

Gareth Hunt?

I'm ashamed to say that I haven't even got around to opening my 2-pack yet, but I've seen both figures in local shops when they were still on shelves. I forgot if it differed much in hand but I think the main issue is the soft paint. Jazz showed there is a better likeness in there that can be brought to the surface. I'd love to see what some other painters can do with this

I still think the HT sculpt is decent, but this sculpt has raised the bar. Looking forward to getting it in hand :yess:

Between this and Jazz's paint up the gauntlet has been well and truly thrown down to Hot Toys. I would hope for a new, great sculpt for Stormtrooper Han (not that smirking one) and at the very least an improved paint job that brings out the sculpt.

I'll post some time, there's a few things with paint that can be done to bring out more of the likeness specifically around the mouth and eyebrows. I did this and it helped slightly but the head is just not a good likeness in the sculpt. The paint can only do so much. I have to admit I was never excited about the hot toys Han Solo and I never knew why until I saw the jinx custom sculpt and finally got excited for the figure as I should be.

There's other problems with this figure I think his build is wrong for one thing. I plan to adress that a bit once I get my custom head.

The top one reminds me of someone, but I just can't think of their name.

It's going to bug me all day now.

It reminds me of Chris Morris from Brasseye and The Day Today. I saw it as soon as I saw the first grey proto photo and I can't shake it. It's a great sculpt and I would have been interested but I just can't unsee it.
