But personally, I think it looks really good. :clap

So weird because from the moment I first saw the Falcon I thought it was one of the coolest ship designs ever. The off-center cockpit, the weird "mandibles" in front.

It looks "raw" like a restaurant that forgoes the drop ceiling and you can see all the pipes and ducts and stuff but still has some industrial character that is appealing.

Yeah, I definitely get the feeling that you're supposed to be blown away by it as a viewer when you first see it, but Luke's reaction does so much to convey the technology that must exist in the universe--though it's not like the Y wings seem that great or anything. It's like after Han talked up how fast his ship is Luke us seeing this old muscle car that's been modded to all hell but Luke was expecting to see a newish 300 series BMW or something. Luke was just talking about the new models of his speeder in the scene before.

I think in TFA they do a good job of showing that quad jumper thing that Rey is planning on taking, looks newer, shinier, rounder, and the falcon looks like an old boxy Volvo compared to it. Obviously the old Volvo looks awesome and better hands down, but you probably get my point.

Piece of garbage is Rey's, I think. I thought Leia just said, "You came here in that thing? You're braver than I thought."

:exactly:

Not sure if Rey specifically said "piece of garbage", but I know she did refer to it as "garbage" in some way.

The design of the MF is really cool, but I've always kind of found it odd how the cockpit is essentially protruding out off of the right side of the ship. I personally would find that a bit awkward.

So the falcon is a jacked up, pimped out tug boat?!?!

I now love it even more.

Ha. That blew my mind almost as much as discovering the Bossk flight suit was a reused Dr Who prop. Every day's a school day!

Yeah I saw that awhile back, had no idea. There is always something new to learn about SW.
