Well, to be fair, that "not going to happen" came directly from Jnix, several times.:dunno

And here I was just the other day thinking how bummed out I was that I couldn't have a Jnix head for both my stormie and my smuggler Hans. Then boom - more becoming available.:yess:

To be fair, some of those people did not want the third run to happen to have an exclusive head and didnt want to hear people asking Jnix for it.

I will never understand why someone would care if someone else got the same custom head sculpt as they did. A full one-off custom figure? Yes, I can understand limited runs of those. But exclusivity on just a head sculpt doesn't make any sense to me. I would want everyone to be able to enjoy a sweet Harrison Ford sculpt if they wished to have one.

Whatever the people who got the original run heads thought/think (I wasn't one of them - I managed to get an extra head from Jnix long after the runs were closed) the fact remains that Jnix flatly stated there wouldn't be any more Han head runs.

So it's not like it was a "rumor that was spread" or original buyers somehow poisoned the idea of another run... the decision laid with Jnix all along, and he had said no (the sense I got was it was due to burn out on Han heads) but now he's changed his mind and said yes to another run.

Not sure where this "haves" working against the "have-nots" idea got going, but it has no basis in reality unless those original buyers pressured Jnix into not doing another run - and that didn't and couldn't happen.

So don't make out that things inside your head are in the real world when they aren't - it's just toxic talk that goes nowhere (even if that's the motto of Freaks:lol.)

Ugh... looks like I'll need to buy another one.:lol

Just a thought...

I'm not sure what the etiquette is on this, but maybe those of you who were lucky enough to get one the 1st and 2nd time around might spare a thought for those of us that didn't and hold off buying another?
This is no doubt going to be a very limited run and it would be nice to see some priority given to us 1st and 2nd time losers...
If there are still some left afterwards then great, but maybe some sort of limit per person should be agreed?
And we shouldn't xpect Jnix to enforce a limit, it would have to be an understanding between all of us to be fair to those who missed out...

As for this exclusivity nonsense, anyone who is buying multiples of this masterpiece for their "exclusive" (meaning "monetary") value with a view to selling them in the future doesn't deserve one at all...

Share the joy... Isn't that what this community is all about? :dunno

What "exclusivity nonsense" are you talking about? And "limit per person"? Seriously, what the **** are you talking about?:lol

The head is offered, the list is opened, anyone who's interested puts their name down by a certain date, then the list closes. The same way it always goes with a custom head.

Not sure what you're suggesting. "Hold off" for people who are unaware of Jnix's head (or the fact there's a new run) to eventually wake up? If they know about it, then they should get over there and put their name on the list along with everyone else.

The reality is, the people who "missed out" the first time simply didn't know about it (and saw it for the first time when pics were posted and the list was long closed) or chose not to buy it (maybe concerned by how it would actually turn out in-hand, then were surprised how well it came out.)

This isn't like Walmart on Black Friday where there's a rush and the fat guy up front grabs three for himself and the people who happen to be further back don't get any. You understand that?

No "greed" involved here, so no need for the morality lecture.:slap:rotfl

I've personally never understood this mentality with people. You basically don't want anyone else to have it just so that way you think it carries more weight when you say you have it.

Were "haves" actually saying this, or was it an assumption on the part of the "have nots"? I didn't get one initially (for weeks after people got the heads and were posting pics) so I guess I would have been pretty sensitive to gloating, but I don't really recall people saying/doing that - maybe some did, dunno.

All I'm wondering is if it was more the jealousy side than the greed side that's created this impression. I mean what were people saying? "I got it and you'll never have it"?

To me it was all simply about whether Jnix wanted to do more. He said no, now he's said yes - "haves" didn't have any control over that decision, "have nots" maybe did because they asked in greater numbers.

Very well said! :goodpost:

Very wrong said!

For me some things are not needed to be said to know them or interpret them.

Maybe you are wrong, maybe you are right, the only thing we can know for sure is that we cant know the truth about other peoples feelings so no one has the total truth, not me , not you.

A predictably aggressive response... Cool it, kid... It was just a thought, not a morality lecture...

I missed out because I don't spend every waking moment on here and when I did find out about it, I didn't have enough time to rustle up the cash...
That's my problem, and I don't grudge anyone else getting theirs the first time around, but if I miss my chance again because some people want a "Stormie" Han, a "Smuggler" Han, a "Cantina" Han, a bath-time Han and a bed-time Han, I'll be pretty mad... Do you understand that?

And why do you keep stating what you consider to be "reality"?
Frankly, sometimes it is like black Friday at Walmart when something good comes up for sale (must say, I loved the analogy!!), and it's blatantly obvious some people here don't want others to have what they have...
It's clear that you are not one of those people, but if you feel you have to defend them or pretend they don't exist, I'd say you were on the wrong side of the argument...
You ain't the "reality" police, brother...:nono

I was speaking in a general sense to that mentality, not necessarily pertaining to the current matter. Not sure what actually happened as far as what was said, what happened, what people thought, etc. as far as this goes. I haven't been following it.

When I made that remark, I was also referring to the case where some people who already had Han Solo, Vader or Obi-Wan didn't want a second run to be made just because they wanted to feel that they had something that was exclusive and didn't want it to be ready available to anyone else. I mean if you already have yours and you're presumably never going to sell it, then why would you want nobody else to have one?

Not sure if that was also the case also regarding more production runs of the sculpt currently being talked about, but if it was, I personally just simply don't understand the mentality that people don't want something to be readily available so that way others can have one and enjoy it also, just so that way those people can say they have something exclusive.

But I also understand what you're saying regarding jealousy and greed, and who is really to "blame". There's a similar scenario going on with BvS Batman right now. The figure sold out quickly and not everyone who wanted one, got one. So a few people in the thread apparently saw the mere posting of pictures of the figure as a sign of those people "gloating". Obviously not the case because there were ever no derogatory comments made that would otherwise rub in someone's face so to speak, and it's common for people to share pictures of their figure when they receive it. It seemed more a case of mere jealousy on the part of the people who failed to get one that because since they didn't have one, they saw other people posting pictures of their figure as a reminder to themselves that they don't have one.

How do you have this so ***-backwards AND be so totally unaware of it?:rotfl

On the one hand you say "I didn't have enough time to rustle up the cash" and "that's my problem, and I don't grudge anyone else getting theirs." Yup, that's 100% your own fault all right - and has NOTHING to do with anyone else's actions. But... as if blissfully unaware of what you just said... you then say "but if I miss my chance again because some people want a "Stormie" Han...I'll be pretty mad... Do you understand that?"

So the first time it happens, you admit it's 100% your own fault, but when the exact same situation comes up again, suddenly it's "some people's" fault, and you're "pretty mad"?

:slap

Here's a suggestion - immediately get out of this thread, go to the Jnix thread, and put your name down on the list before it closes. If I (or anyone else) choose to do so, I'll go over and put my name down for five heads for my bathtime and bedtime Hans and... both me AND you will get exactly what we wanted.

Right? So no need for you to get "pretty mad."

So, in conclusion - someone wanting five heads does not in any way prevent you from getting what you want, when the list is open and everyone's allowed to get whatever they want. Okay?

And yeah, sometimes "a predictably aggressive response" is exactly what is necessary. BOOM!:rotfl
