I dont think so but we will see feel free 2 qoute me in a few years. I think he turned out good but always something a bit off but nothings perfect.

I wouldn't have to be blind to not see this face buried in that terrible paint job.

I know but there's a lot of people here who, when forking over $220 for a figure, want to believe it is the best ever regardless.

In any event, the HT Ben overall is a nice figure... I still may end up getting it pending some more pictures... but in this case, I've seen the sculpt, and I personally have to give the win to the ancient Sideshow figure (WITH a needed repaint of course).

I feel like what we're getting from this line so far are figures that mostly look like the character, from specific angles with specific lighting. It's a shame, as this is one line I would desperately like to see done near-perfectly.

With the more pics showing up of him in the light, no fancy photography tricks........ now I am back to my original thought of this is not really Alec.... I think with the right pose it can be, but not a figure you plop on your shelf and expect it to be good to go....

Saber is still terrible, Pixels stuff blows Hot Toys out of the water.

Hood up is a must, that cool whipped style hair is really annoying.

Kenobi is my favorite obviously.... still need this, just wish it was better. Kind of a must buy since this will be the only old Kenobi....

Wish this was as good as Alfred.....

The only near-perfects for me so far are Leia and the Stormtrooper. Of course, that may change when I get some more of these in hand.

Han and Ben were always problematic sculpts and remain so. Luke and Leia seemed to get much, much closer to looking like the actors. But we don't have those in hand yet.

"Who dat?"

Luke looks good.

Yeah, Luke's not bad, ended up pre-ordering him, but haven't ordered Vader or Kenobi yet. Let's not forget Chewie either, he's looking pretty great in some photos, but I'll judge in hand if I feel like I have the Walking Carpet on my shelf or just some wookie.

Here's HT's Ben "in-hand" - literally.

From Cihat Uygun‎ on FB:

I blocked everything out except the face in this pic, showed it to a workmate and asked who he thought it was. Without hesitation he said Ben Kenobi.

I like the sculpt and think it's just as good of a representation as SS's is but without the hint of caricature.

No one is arguing about the crap paint... is that really what distracts everyone when we were talking about the sculpt?

I can see where this is going as usual -- everyone is going to circle-jerk themselves into believe the new sculpt is so lifelike that it doesn't matter who it looks like, then a few years from now when Star Ace or someone offers a new version, everyone will be laughing about Asian Guinness.

You can justify that SS Vader is not too tall, you can justify that Chewie is not too short, and you can justify that this look like Guinness... that doesn't make it so.
You said it. One fleeting glance at the FB pages and a quick remark and I was out of there. All the usual - Sideshow---->> doll, looks nothing like him. Hot Toy--->>> human being in 1/6, will have sex with.

And there is noooo discourse at all. I swear OSW is where discourse goes to die.

It's one of the reasons I've distanced myself from these communities lately.

Not sure why people are judging this again. In hand it will look better. Same people will wait for other people's pics, say it looks is better, wait closer to SS release, see everyone likes it better now than when it releases in HK and will sellout. Then people will complain they waited too long and SS will be waitlisting it.

If you're a fan of Obi and want it, buy it. I say Alec all day long in this, is it perfect? No, no sculpt ever will be to some but we should expect HT and Disney to not drop the ball on SW. I feel every facial sculpt will have the same topic and criticisms.
