Keaton just looks awful from all angles. Only plus about new pics is that the overdone skin pores don't look as bad. Batman looks on point though

Re: Hot Toys – MMS 293 & 294 Batman Returns: Batman and Bruce Wayne (Keaton) Set

This will be my first HT Batman figure. To be honest I was thinking the single figure would have been $250 - $280. These last three years I was bitching to everyone that the longer we wait the more we have to pay. I was wrong and apologize. I am more than 100% happy to pay $219 for what they are offering.

You happened to be wrong as it turned out but your prediction was reasonable based on a general trend of rising figure prices. This is something of an oddity. Now, if Hot Toys had in mind the fact that they've kept us waiting quite a while for this and so reset the pricing back to what it would have been in 2012 then kudos to them.

It does kind of feel that way

Man, including the Bruce Wayne figure was a huge misfire on Hot Toys' part. The bad Keaton HS has completely overshadowed the Batman figure itself. I've got the 2 pack pre-ordered, but if we start getting in hand shots from HK that show the HS hasn't been improved then I'll be switching my order to the Batman-only single pack.

An update from HT a la Iron Man 3 Tony Stark would be nice, just to quell the masses.

With Pop Culture Zone it comes to around $217 with shipping...

Re: Hot Toys – MMS 293 & 294 Batman Returns: Batman and Bruce Wayne (Keaton) Set

The single pack is a great figure for a surprisingly reasonable price for anyone who missed the '89 Batman figure. There's no question about that.

But for collectors who already own the '89 Batman, between the absent glider wings and horrendous Keaton sculpt (that'll run you an extra $120 to cover the bad tuxedo), there's little to be had that the '89 figure does not already offer.

Now on the other hand, if they'd included the glider cape, nailed a great Keaton likeness with ripped cowl, ditched the second body and tuxedo and sold the set for $299, then we'd have ourselves a killer offering.

Hopefully that means a better sculpt than the one presented in the prototype is what ships, although I wouldn't recommend placing a pre-order unless either 1.) a person is fine with the head as-is, or 2.) Hot Toys posts an official "update" on the headsculpt with new imagery.

Can't mix statues with dolls. Can't. Just can't.

I agree it's a tough mix, but I'm going to do it anyway because their Pfeiffer will look gorgeous. And just once, I want a female on my Hot Toys shelf who looks curvy.

I've pre-ordered the Single Pack, a lot more affordable, plus I don't really need to have a Bruce Wayne display. When it comes it would be nice to put both 89 and Returns together in one display with Chris Reeve Superman. Awesome!

I'm having to do it with my Batman 66 display. I have the Batman and Robin from Hot Toys, but I'm getting the tweeterhead Newmar Catwoman and Batgirl. I just don't see Hot Toys making those figs, plue the Tweeterhead ones look awesome.

Glad they are doing Returns Catwoman, might have to get that too.

Already have dx09 and given the original is probably my fav to be honest I won't be picking this up. Sure the price is great but what really are you getting, a couple extra accessories and a few changed mouth sculpts.I think Its more then a shame the glider wasn't included. HT should have went all out on the batman figure including the glider and more mouth sculpts instead of giving us a lame bruce wayne figure. Feels very much like an afterthought.

It's a way of putting an emoticon face. Closed eyes with tears running down.
Thanks for the explaination. So I read the message again and now I wonder why he's crying. Did Howard choose the worst sculpt from all of those he made?

Funnily enough, THAT would've put a dent on my excitement. I would be paying an additional $80 for things that will forever sit in the box.
I think it sucks that the ones of you who wanted the glider aren't getting it, but offering a single figure without tons of extras is a great offering for many of us.
