Holding out hope they improve the sculpt. I'll hold off on any PO until we see if that's the case. I'll likely just go with solo bats if no improvement. Price is great.

If they improved the sculpt, I'd be inclined to pick up a 2 pack in addition to the solo Batman I already have ordered so I could display the regular version and then the torn cowl.

Funnily enough, THAT would've put a dent on my excitement. I would be paying an additional $80 for things that will forever sit in the box.

As opposed to all those tuxedo bruce bodies that will get left in the box?

I love it when Hot Toys does these box sets and offers buyers the choice to spend more for more, but in this case I can't help but feel like the cheaper version plays more like a second chance to own a Keaton Batman for those that missed the DX09, and nothing else.

I just wonder why they couldn't do the glider. If they could make Falcon's wings they surely could make the glider. Just assuming that the restrictions on the suit held them back. Feel like there had to be a way though.

I placed PO on the single and the 2 pack at BBTS. If they do improve the HS for BW then I am getting 2 pack if not, I'll cancel it and stick with the single.

They didn't even give Batman new mouth plates (they're recycled from DX-09). It's been three years since this line was announced. Batman Returns is clearly not important to Howard Chan.

Actually when I read that the mouth plates were recycled, that's what, strangely enough, has just convinced me to order the Tweeterhead Catwoman. If Hot Toys couldn't even be bothered to sculpt new mouth plates for this Batman, I just don't think they care about this line. No glider cape and a thrown together tuxedo instead of a Bruce in the Batcave outfit was bad enough, but not even giving us some new facial expressions? Let's just say I'm glad I bought a DX-09, and yeah, I've lost faith in Hot Toys ever doing anything else for this line. So I'll get my Pfeiffer Catwoman from Tweeterhead, and I'm betting they'll give us a DeVito Penguin too at some point, since it's not like sculptors have to worry about tooling costs on a new body type.

It actually doesn't mean much. They will have different sculpts for approval and it seems like they might hire more than one sculptor for a project and choose the best one that they like. I don't know why they went with a worse head sculpt for presentation photos.

The single pack is a great figure for a surprisingly reasonable price for anyone who missed the '89 Batman figure. There's no question about that.

But for collectors who already own the '89 Batman, between the absent glider wings and horrendous Keaton sculpt (that'll run you an extra $120 to cover the bad tuxedo), there's little to be had that the '89 figure does not already offer.

Now on the other hand, if they'd included the glider cape, nailed a great Keaton likeness with ripped cowl, ditched the second body and tuxedo and sold the set for $299, then we'd have ourselves a killer offering.

It won't be...

The 89 09 is one of the best 1/6 figures made by HT ( except for those damn cape wires). It looks like Keaton is in that suit. I'm passing on this, may pick up the cape, but IMO, it does not look like Keaton in that suit and the BW doesn't look like Keaton either and who asked for a BW in a Tux anyway? I was hoping, expecting a Returns Batman with glider and torn cowl with excellent Keaton sculpt all in one package and that didn't happen.

Great minds think alike. How's it going man, can't wait to see more of your cool pics, too bad it won't be for this.

The glider is a cool moment in the movie but not something I care about enough to have for a 1/6 figure. I would look at it once and then return it to the box forever.

For those who did not pick up the 89 (me) these face plates are welcomed.

They're just too damn similar though. And the side-by-side in the proto-pics only emphasizes this. I mean if you're gonna just rehash the same mouth pieces from DX09 you might aswell leave the blood on the one of them to at least keep it looking somewhat distinctive.
