Re: Hot Toys – MMS 293 & 294 Batman Returns: Batman and Bruce Wayne (Keaton) Set
It's fine to wish they made it. all I am saying is that it's not like the falcon where they just engineer some plastic pieces that fold up and are not attached to the body.
Having to make the glider for this would require a complete redesign. Becuase of the way the suit is designed and the materials it's made from. It's not as simple as ditching the Wayne tux figure. I asked my friend a few more questions about this becuase of the mixed reviews and glider stuff.
They looked into making the glider. But engineering wise it would have been a lot more difficult. The key to getting this figure out has been keeping in house costs down. It's a fan demanded figure but one that may not fly off the shelf. Keeping the cost down was more important. The profit margin on this figure is below what they generally are comfortable with.
All that said, I would have liked the glider more then tux Bruce. I'm not a fan of civilian clothes figures. But surprisingly they sell pretty well I'm told. So I agree it would have been nicer to have the glider. But getting the figure is still very cool.
Edit-and if you read the thread, to answer your question about who wants civi Bruce, there have been nearly as many posting they like/want it as those that don't..
They could've scratched the Keaton kitbash in order to include the Glider and keep the price reasonable.
Seriously, aside from the HS, who wants a MK tuxed figure? It's not like the Armory where it makes sense since you get Alfred as well. Who do you display Keaton with?
I guess it is what it is. At this point, there's just no reason to keep complaining I guess.
