Re: Hot Toys - MMS - Avengers: AoU - Quicksilver figure discussion

Quicksilver was added to the group shot for the final trailer :rock

Noticed that as well. If the QS death rumor turns out false, Marvel did a good job planting that piece of false info.

Swoosh fwoosh bam bam bam. That's what I'm hearing when I watch him :lol

Honestly the rumor only started because he wasn't in the 360 shot, well there he is folks

The rumor actually started because there was word of an early cut of the movie being screened at Disney where he dies, broken by Bleeding Cool. I've spoken to a couple people who've seen such an early cut and they confirmed the same thing. The lack of QS in the final battle of the earlier trailers gave the rumor more legs. Least I can go into the movie expecting to be surprised, one way or another. Still possible he gets killed towards the end of the final battle after that trailer shot, but at least Marvel's kept us guessing.

It just seems stupid and spiteful to make an issue out of using mutant characters that FOX has rights to too, changing their origins in the comics, etc. and then killing one of them off in your own movie.

If you fought hard to use them you might as well keep them and compete with Fox in showing how you do the character, make them more famous than the FOX versions (by figures, licensing, etc) and confuse audiences.. :lol

That confuse the audience part is exactly why they wouldn't want to do it. And given that fox has finally started renegotiate with marvel it makes sense that they would not want to further complicate things and make more bad blood between them. Before this movie fox was not even willing to discuss things, now fox is begging to aquire other rights so they know they have to relent and give some concessions. So going forward I would expect things to change.

Didn't know about the bolded part, can you elaborate on this? I'm just curious to hear about any developments between the whole Fox/Marvel thing.

Well now that we know they killed of Quicksilver where does that leave things with future X-men line ups? I must say I did really dislike the whole 'experimentation' theme and 'enhanced' rubbish talked about in AoU why couldn't the just stick with mutant and stop destroying their own character origins.

I really liked his character in AoU. I really hated them killing him off. Though he did go out well. I was kinda sad.

I'm going to make mine screen accurate with loads of bloody bullet holes in him.

its such a waste to kill off an interesting new character... Or any character. Or the villains.

Marvel is really pathetic now a days when it just comes to killing people for no reason.

Also, I just finally saw Days of Future Past and their version of Quicksilver is pretty awesome, so I say let them have him.
