If Plagueis is Snoke, then the entire Prequel and Original trilogies would be essentially pointless. The prophecy that Anakin would bring balance to the Force by destroying the Sith would be null and void if Plagueis was still around. I get the theories I just don't think it would be a smart plot move.

That video isn't worth a watch because those theories are large amounts of dumb. Anyone who thinks Snoke is Plagueis should have their internet privileges revoked. Phasma being the mom is not even worth an adjective. The Plagueis people are the "Maybe Sidious isn't Palpatine" of the new trilogy. In the worst way possible.

Wow yeah, I had heard Rey is Luke's daughter and that seems plausible but the theory I heard had Kylo killing Luke's wife.

I don't get the theories. JJ said he isn't. Serkis said he is new to the universe. Early concept art had the character as a female. He is a brand new race of alien. Pablo Hildalgo of the story group has been making fun of Plagueis theorists on Twitter for weeks.

Some major fanboy mental gymnastics are required.

That doesn't even make a lot of sense. Kylo was 15 years old when Rey was left on Jakku. And it's been said by people in the know that the arrack on the Jedi likely took place more recent in the timeline than people are assuming.

But the scene where

the Stormtroopers shun him when he's throwing tantrum was funny as hell. :lol

That scene was funny, but it was funny because you could see the fear and "the hell with that, I'm not goin in there when he's pissed" attitude plain as day on those troopers, they know their boss has rage issues and anyone who has ever dealt with people like that know it's best to stay the hell out of their way or you could end up on the receiving end of it. The only way anyone could have thought the troopers were shunning ren is if they were convinced they didn't want to like ren and wanted the storm troopers to not like him too so they would have company :lol cuz it definitely was not written that way and did not come across that way on screen. It's fine if you don't like Kylo Ren, but he clearly has the respect of his troopers thru fear just like vader did, and if you can't admit that then you really don't come across as serious.

This. 100% agree. People cling to unfounded beliefs no matter how much fact is presented to them.

He's not.

Lmao there are people who thought Sidious wasn't Palpatine..?

And yeah everything in the video is a stretch, but I enjoy the theories. Even the outlandish ones (Snoke is Jar Jar :lol). They're fun and keep the discussion going. I'm just a little disappointed we got essentially nothing from TFA about Snoke. There's some bits in the novel, but those are vague. Around since the fall of the Republic, spoke to Kylo as a child, etc.

I'm of the same opinion; I like to hear all the different theories and the enthusiasm behind it all... to some extent, no doubt the writers of these movies do exactly the same thing as they brainstorm plotlines, who's connected to who, and look at a variety of different ideas, no matter how weird or outlandish the theories are. It's probably once they are all written down and step back from it they really can see which ones work, don't work, are plain stupid and amongst all that there's a cool idea that really stands out and they go with. It'll be interesting to see how Ep VIII and Kylo Ren & Snoke take shape.

As an armchair screen writer I find a lot of the fan theories and really good . Sometimes better than what actually exists...

Anakin also choked Padme until she was unconscious (and broke her heart too). Not good especially for a pregnant woman. So i count it two persons close to him.

I can't recall where i read it, but i seem to remember that the explanation for "keeping the ones you love from dying" was by killing someone else, and Sidious used the force to take Padme's life force and gave it to Anakin, as he was too damaged to live otherwise.
Could be a load of bull. As i say, i can't remember where i read it.

If only...
But chances are they'll do a completely redone figure with snow weathering on his boots and outfit like the Black Series figure and call it Starkiller Base Duel version. Could come with 2 heads, 1 clean and 1 scarred. And I would honestly buy a second Kylo fig.

I'd die from happiness if that happened.

Vader's show of rage induces fear, Kylo's was just childish and made people dislike him. I hope there's a growth with the next 2 movies, if not he'll just be a whiny kid for all 3 movies. :lol

See to me Kylo Ren's tantrums gave more of the passion and imbalance that we've heard about the Dark Side from the beginning. Essentially he is an apprentice, trying to learn, trying to become a Dark Lord of the Sith like Vader but isn't there yet. He can't control his emotions, he can't control himself. We saw Vader in the OT as a man in control of the Dark Side, in control of himself and Kylo isn't that. He is what we should have seen Anakin like, even after he turned to the Dark Side, Hayden Christensen was pretty wooden, other than the Mustafar scene didn't even get flashes of emotion and passion, even when he is screaming he hates Obi-Wan, he should have been going nuts as a Sith Apprentice the entire time.

I loved it. I look for him to be more in control and much more cold and calculating. I look forward to his evolution.

As would I. More Kylo is good with me. I also want a 1/4 version of him.

And Wade was right. He's one of the best and most layered characters in all of Star Wars. The hype was warranted. Now the wait for VIII will be just awful.

A 1/4 version would be epic. I think I like his overall look more than Vader's, but that's just me. I'll be curious to see what he looks like in the next film; hopefully there won't be a drastic costume change. I almost hope he takes off his mask even more in the next one, just to *&$$ off all the whiners stomping their feet over how "lame" he looks without it.

Preach! :lol

Yeah I rewatched ROTJ last week and I actually don't care for his look in that one. He seemed kinda fat lol. It looked better in ESB.
And Kylo looked alright in TFA. He just seemed young and inexperienced. But yeah I'm looking forward to his growth. I still want the 1/4 Vader Hot Toys announced. I'll put them both side by side and marvel at what $1000 can buy me. :rotfl

Nothing to do with the Plagueis theory, but that is the Jedi interpretation of the prophecy.

One that I really like is that "to bring balance" doesn't mean helping the light side.
When the Jedi were supreme, the Sith in hiding and the light prevailing, he did brought balance by becoming Vader, joining the dark side and helping destroy the Jedi.
When the Sith were supreme, the empire absolute and the dark side prevailing, he again brought balance by killing Palpatine and saving Luke.

Very true anakin definitely kept both sides from becoming to powerful and in that sense really did bring balance to the force. Also a prophecy doesn't have to be for all time, anakin brought balance to the force, that doesn't mean that it can never be disturbed again, I think we are now past what the prophecy was about, but who knows I can't wait to see where they take us in the next two films.

Anyone who is absolutely certain Snoke isn't Plagueis hasn't been paying attention. TFA has clues that definitely suggest the possibility:

-The track "Snoke" that plays as we meet him in the film is identical to "The Tragedy of Darth Plagueis" track that plays during the opera scene in ROTS.

-Kylo says to Han "The Supreme Leader is wise."

-Kylo threatens Hux by saying maybe Leader Snoke should order the use of clones again.

-Palpatine tells Anakin "To cheat death is a power only one has achieved."

So no, the Snoke/Plagueis theory isn't stupid at all, specially when the novelization states Snoke began telepathically speaking to Kylo as a child - something powerful Sith are known to do.

This is what I thought, but then you have people coming out and directly dismissing this Plagueis theory. But for all we know it could just be deflecting. It honestly makes a lot of sense and would tie all the trilogies together. And if the theory is not true, then why is Snoke's track the same as the Plagueis one from ROTS. I refuse to believe it's just a happy coincidence.
