Sorry....can't spell it out any more for you. But I guess if you need to post a whole paragraph whining about how awful a figure is, how customers need to expect and demand better...but then say you are buying it anyway...I shouldn't expect you to understand common logic. I'd say enjoy your purchase, but you already made it clear you won't. Looking forward to more complaints about other figures you don't like but are buying as well! Enjoy!

Anyway, sorry to everyone else for getting off track. I'll keep the conversation back on the figure and how much I honestly am looking forward to it. Should be some reviews coming within a day or two I'm sure.

Keep trying, buddy. You'll get there eventually.

Lol at the people who get their minds blown by people who like stiff they don?t. Vice versa too.

I was suffering from Obi Ep 3 syndrome... remembering how the first final pics caused a mass backlash, but then the figure turned out pretty great. Reading the same reaction on FB all weekend (how awful this Luke was) got old. That said, it's not my place to judge anyone's opinions as right or wrong, so I'm going to clean up my posts, and just continue to be happy about this figure finally being released. At the end of the day, these are expensive toys for adults, so no need to get worked up over others opinions. I'll take my own advice on that!

Hopefully the windswept hair will be available soon. I'd like one for my original Jedi Luke.

The HS is not good. There I said it. I'm still getting it, cause I missed out on the first RotJ Luke (cause the HS weren't good). This is my hero, growing up. Jedi Luke, in the dark suit, fighting evil, saving his dad ... Yeah, I am really annoyed that Hot Toys didn't try harder to fix the first HS. But they didn't. End of story. I am usually a real stickler when it comes to HS. But this is my childhood hero. I'll take a subpar HS. Maybe some third party will do a GOOD RotJ sculpt. Maybe not. As I said, I missed out on the first one. I'm getting this. Haters are right to hate and I do think we should expect and (at those prices) demand the best. Truth is, they didn't deliver here. I am looking forward to getting this though.

The first HT RotJ Luke is still available on Sideshow with a $20 discount code. I'm not sure how much international shipping would be, but it's still an option if you want the original as opposed to this release.

The HS is good, not perfect, but you see luke ROTJ clearly..... I've seen better customs..... But is good, for me at least

That?s a great paint job but personally I think that looks less like luke than the HT sculpts

It seems that the likeness of young Mark Hamill is not easy to capture...

I think the HS from the standard RotJ still has the best likeness so far.

I went the custom sculpt twice...once with an unmasked Kylo (turned out great) and once with an "Angry Rey" (turned out beyond awful) and just can't see myself doing it again. By the time all is said and done with buying the sculpt and shipping to me, paying to ship the sculpt and have it painted, then paying to have it shipped back to me...I felt ridiculously stupid for how much money I put into that, so I decided never again, it was just way too expensive for what I got in return. I know this Luke sculpt isn't for everyone, but it works perfectly fine for me, I'm looking forward to this figure. I realized when im paying for than a total figure for the final custom sculpt product...that I either needed to either enjoy the figure as is that I am buying, or simply not purchasing it if I have a problem with the sculpt.

Anyways... hoping for some Luke in hand video reviews this week!

The sculpts look pretty good in Justin's YouTube review. Definitely much better than HT release pics.

He does.

The comparison with the original figure was interesting to see:

ROTJ Luke Original and 2.0.jpg

I have the original in his cloak with Jabba.

I've been planning to use the new one as he appears on the Death Star because he looks so good.

I have another figure in black stretchy pants (from Sideshow's vintage Buffy!) and a generic black shirt ready to take the Endor gear and second sculpt.

Ridiculous that this has the thinner body and we got stuck with fat suit luke on the previous version. I will use this as my Death Star 2 luke and use my fat luke for Endor gear. Are changing the boots an easy swap or is it a pain? The Endor version has green on the boots.

After watching Justin's video I decided to take the fat suit off my first version.

The boots are a little scary at first, but grip them by the soles and gently pull them from the sockets. To put them back on I made sure the boots were straightened out on the leg so there wasn't any chance of catching the pleather in the ankle joint.

After removing the fat suit he looks better, but his belt is loose. To stop it slipping down I pushed some folded over paper under the back of it, which is concealed by his cloak.

Thanks for the help. Does it look significantly better without the fat suit? Did you remove it completely?

Yes, I took it all off. Which was a pain as his tunic is tight to prise off since the fat suit restricts his shoulder movement.

He does look a lot better. It's almost the difference between a 1977 Kenner Luke and a 1995 Kenner Luke. :lol

Once the boots were back on I used a pair of flat nosed tweezers to push the pants back down into them, which sorts out the creases left by the looser material.

Definitely sucks that the Jabba version isn't nearly as well proportioned. Will definitely be mixing and matching based on costume/scene myself as I will have a couple of each.
