Oh of course not. Just something to point out and discuss.. cuz I've seen people make the comment that the silver colored cannons are wrong so that's why they added the copper coloring. But in reality THAT'S wrong, at least in terms of "screen accurate". Because on-screen the cannons are depicted as silver, as seen in the DVD movie stills I captured and posted.

Posting the ADI book pics and using that as proof is actually strange as well because by that same thinking, all the black & white Marv statues from "Sin City" with the white bandages are wrong because the "behind the scenes" pics clearly show the bandages were actually NEON PINK.

So as far as "screen accuracy" the white bandages are correct. But if you're going by "behind the scenes" pics and using that as definitve like the one Elder Pred posted of the hand held plasma cannon from the ADI book (i.e. what you don't actually see on screen) then all the statues of Marv should've had Neon Pink bandages. lol.

Dude...Sin City is really not a good example to use for hidden color swaps. EVERY color in Sin City was changed...that was a part of the whole artistry for the movie :) (and one of my personal favorite movies as well!)

Anyway, should be easy enough to determine what color the hand cannon was supposed to be...pop in the DVD and skip to the end where they have that nice shot of it sitting in a case.

You completely missed my point, yet you stated EXACTLY what I was saying. How that's possible is beyond me. lmao. Sin City is the perfect example because it highlights my point about the differences between "Screen Accuracy" and "Behind The Scenes". If you make a "Screen Accurate" Marv from Sin City from that bathroom scene, you'd have a B&W figure, with white bandages. Like the figures that were made. If you have a "Behind The Scenes" figure, you'd have a normal colored guy with neon pink bandages. They're 2 completely different things. That was my point. ON SCREEN, Wolf's plasma cannons are silver. I posted up screen grabs I captured, the cannons are silver. If there is some copper coloring it's so faint you can't see it. So ON SCREEN they're silver. That would be "Screen Accurate". Posting pics from the ADI book which show "Behind The Scenes" pictures to say "See the copper, that's how they're suppose to be colored" makes about as much sense as posting that pic of Marv with neon pink bandages and saying "See, that's how the Marv figures are supposed to be colored".

Get it?

I understand perfectly, but the point I was making was that every color change in Sin City was deliberatly digitally altered as part of the movie's design. In AVP:R, I don't think we know if they had an actual color change on a later version of the prop itself -or- if they just decided to change the color in the movie in post-production for whatever reason. The pics in the book (and also Sideshow's prop) could be based on an earlier design with different colors.

It certainly wouldn't be the first time a toy was made based on concept artwork that was later changed for the actual movie itself.

Agreed. And in that instance wouldn't we then be in agreement that, that toy, etc. was NOT "Screen Accurate"? Just to clarify, the whole reason I brought this point up is because I saw a lot of people on here and thehunter'slair stating the reason they repainted their Wolf Predator plasma guns is because "Hot Toys screwed up" and because it makes it more "like the movie". And to me that's false. Just something minor to discuss and bring up.

the Sideshow Plasma Caster Prop was made by ADI - taken straight from the actual prop used in the film.
I think its as movie accurate as ADI wanted it to be.

I for one have no problem with the color of the 1:1 canon from ADI/Sideshow nor do I have a problem with the HT Wolf canons.

I own both and love them equally! they are awesome....but thats just my opinion :) to each his own.
I just wish the 1:1 prop could actually shoot!

Guys, I just noticed, the begs that connect the hand to the ball joint are soo much skinnier than the normal Wolf's. BE CAREFUL!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was, and he still broke.:monkey2

Can the hand be pushed any further into the wrist joint than this. I thought I'd ask here first before I attempted it, and pushed to hard and break the wrist peg.

Nope...mine sticks out about that far as well.

To end the whole debate on the prop....HT is accurate. It has tan parts. The reason you DONT see it, is because the ^^^^tard who color graded the movie made it so dark and murky you cant tell whats what. I didnt notice Wolf had his markings on his head until I saw Sideshow's again. Point is, they dont sculpt from the movie, they sculpt from the props. If they did that, Wolf would be a dark green, and his armor would be black, as would the Predalien be. Its accurate.

Yep, what you see on screen is not what the prop always looks like.

Like I said, I think, earlier, it's accurate to ADI, not the film do to the lighting.
