Just look at that ... the likeness is uncanny.

yeah its nice that they got a good headsculpt considering a lot of other issues with the dcd (i want one myself! great accessories and likeness, as everyone knows). but i dont consider it the best headsculpt, its a good likeness of heath ledger but its a somewhat poor overall headsculpt. ive seen it in person. i put hot toys right underneath les' and who knows how the new custom ones will turn out. then id say medicom (best likeness of all of them, somewhat mediocre detail and paint from what i can tell from the few pics out) and then dcd last. it makes sense for the price range, if dcd costs as much as ht thatd be robbery, but if the ht costs what the dcd does now thats a great bargain. medicom's clothing and from what appears to be lack of accessories makes it a bit iffy for the price if you ask me.

I'm no firearms expert but the handgun that The Joker used in the movie looked like a Glock or had the design similar to a Glock.

At first I thought that the Hot Toys Lincoln Burrows had the right pistol, but I was wrong. It looks like the Michael Scofield has the right gun but wrong colour scheme and vice versa to match the gun used by Joker in the movie.

I also just realized that the shotgun Joker used actually belonged to ......

the Bank Manager, William Fichtner

The one for HT Hicks has a similar looking barrel, but the handle in the movie is short and curved. No idea what kind of shotgun it is.

yeah dc direct joker looks bland but it fetches the same price as the ht joker on ebay now...if this joker madness dissipates I would try to get the dcd knives and clown mask to go with my ht joker..last time I look the clown mask was at $30 gah!!

I think the HT one looks alot better than the dcd one. Better facial expression, better clothing, better accessories and a better paint job. I do like the dcd one but not enough to say it stands toe to toe with the HT one.

It doesn't really, in terms of body and clothing. But the face sculpt is WAY better and WAY more accurate. Hot Toys face sculpt is actually pretty bad. It doesn't help that they got the eyes all wrong, as well as the facial scars.

But like I said Hot Toys has a better body mold and clothing. As far as accessories? HT has the accurate knife he uses, but the DC Direct's accessories are better. Knives, all the cards, Goon mask, and the glock he uses.

I have to say that I also prefer the likeness on the DC one. Yes, sadly the body is crap, and the clothes are a lot rougher then the HT version, but for pretty much half the price of the HT one, what do you expect.

I think the DC version would be superb If it was remoulded and reworked into to give it a wee bit more detail. The HT head on the other hand could do with some of that detail being knocked back somewhat, and letting the paint 'tell the story' instead.

The clothes on the HT one of course just can't be beat. The trailering is just superb, and of the course the body underneath is miles more superior.

And indeed it already has been, by myself,

The reason you prefer it is due to the fact that it is a laser scan of Ledger's head in makeup, so it is 100% accurate and not an interpretation by an artist. Not that that's bad. This is just more accurate to Heath's features.
And I agree about the DCD vs HT comparison. Both are nice, HT has it's qualities, and so does DCD. Also, DCD has the more accurate looking shoes, tie and more and better accessories to me, something else to consider. HT has the one knife that I like.

That repaint is awesome.
I’m one of those people that think that Hot Toys has the best products on the market, and Medicom’s usually disappoint me when they do sculpt faces. Of course I’ve never consider DCDirect as an option because I just simply didn’t collect them, but I think some figures are decent.

I’ve to say that this time HT made a good job but not as impressive as I used to see. The body and clothes are excellent, but the face is not accurate. I agree that DCD is more like Ledger but it need a better paint job, even so DCD is a bit accurate.

I mentioned Medicom before, because I’d like to see that sculpt face. I’ve seen a couple of pictures and it seems to be very accurate and as DCD, I think that with a good paint job it would be great. Of course I’d like to see a repaint of HT with a better paint application and see what happen.

By the way, I bought HT’s Joker, but I’m thinking to get the Medicom version too.

Do people STILL not understand that there is probably NO reason for HT Joker to look like Heath?!? In the figure info release it stated 'authentic likeness of The Joker', not Heath Ledger.

Maybe they did have the rights and just screwed up, but I doubt it.

Anyway, put simply, Les' modded DCD head blows evrything out of the water.

Agreed. Something in the neighborhood is about all HT wanted. He does look more like Heath's Joker than some other character out there, just is not as tight a likeness is all. It is not bad. At all. And, I am getting one also, and will repaint it. No worries.
I just think it is exaggerated some. And for what it's worth, that is not a crime, nor is owning or defending it. It is clearly a cool version to get.

Damn straight!

I for one can't wait to have a HT version and a HT version with your HL head proudly on display. HT for interrogation scene methinks and the one with your HL head in full kit.

The thing is that these figures are mass-produced, to get paint to "tell the story" as well as Les' or DA's work would take forever. IF they did that, we would probably be all complaining how the 'final product' looks nothing like the 'proto shots'. Instead they do a good job in creating a more realistic HS by making it grainier unlike the majority of their past sculpts

That mask on the DCD Joker is ridiculous. And in person the face comes off as plastic, not skin.
