Yeah, cause the movie was terrible. Terminator Salvation is probably one of THE MOST underated action movies ever. People dont give it any credit whatsoever. Just hop on the bandwagon.

People would probably like it alot more if it didn't have Terminator slapped on it as it felt nothing like the old Terminator's.

However, I don't think it would have done as well as it did if it didn't have the Terminator name attached to it as it gives the film brand awareness to the general public.

That's the whole point, Mcg took a different approach on this film. No other terminator films took place in the future. People would have liked it better if it didnt have "terminator" in the title??

He's saying people dislike it because they have expectations as to what a Terminator film should be, and that if Salvation were just some futuristic movie not supposed to be anything we're familiar with, people may have enjoyed it for what it is, of course you'd have to remove certain Terminator elements for it to be it's own story. It's a lot like Halloween 3 which met poor reception because everyone expected a Michael Myers film and it wasn't.

That's the problem, people set their expectations way too high and end up being dissapointed.

People compare it to 1+2 which some consider masterpieces.

It's not a "masterpiece" and it's not trying to be. It's trying to be a fun film which it was.

Agreed. Mcg isnt the greatest director, that's forsure, but at least he knows how to do great action sequences.

I don't think anyone set too high expectations with Salvation, I think ultimately, it's that many, including myself, want all Terminator films to have the feel of the Cameron films, and reality at this point is, unless he makes it, that's never going to happen again.

T:S is a good movie, but it is missing the Terminator feel, it really seems almost more like it's own movie just borrowing a few things from Terminator. If this does pan into a trilogy, it'll be curious to see how T:S supports the other films.

I dont think it can support the other films because of the fact that its the "altered" timeline. The whole idea of terminator salvation is completely different from camerons point of view, IMO that's what makes salvation unique. I like the idea of moto-terminators, aerostats, harvesters and hydrobots.

I really liked TS, i didn't have a prob with it in the least, it was way better then T3 and it got the series back on track IMO.

The terminator Franchise should have died after T3, were all lucky that we even got another Terminator movie.

and if your part of the group who would rather see it Die then watch future Terminator movies that aren't directed by Cameron.....then DON'T Watch them.

I am looking forward to the the next one!

I wish it were on DVD already, I'm a bit uninspired photographically with Connor because I hardly remember the film to draw inspiration from and the trailers are about the same few shots over and over so not much help there.

Alot of Connor's action was when he was in his V2 suit so it's be really authentic when he comes out. Glad one's being made.

Yeah, but there was a good ammount in his v1 suit as well, the whole opening scene with him, which I really liked, but I just can't recall specific shots that would make me think, ooh that'd be cool to mimic with the figure.

My favorite part would be when connor got his shoe ripped off by the t-600 and pumps it full of the m60d machine gun!

My favorite sequence in the whole movie was Connor squaring off with the T-800.

As for the figure, it'll also help shooting this figure when v2 ships and I have the proper rifle.

My favourie bit in the film is The scene in the helicopter when John is pulled underwater with Hydrobot and Marcus dives in and saves and his face is eaten of. With the Hrydobot release they'd but some great poses with Marcus.

I just can't remember if that latch is supposed to be closed across his chest or open, only saw the movie once in theaters and can't find a movie still of him standing there showing it, anyone know if it's suppossed to be open or closed??

I have a near DVD quality copy of the movie and from what it looks like, the buckle across the chest is open for the most part..maybe its closed when he is hooked up for his jump in the begining though..i have not checked that part.I am going to get the actual good copy of the movie when it comes out though.

Well, my Connor came with a lot of straps that needed some glue so I went ahead and applied it where necessary. It wasn't that bad though. I know you shouldn't have to be the one applying the glue but I kind of like it.

Here's Connor all geared up and glued up.
